Tire Rack Consumer Review of the Goodyear Eagle Sport All-Season (V-Speed Rated)

This is an initial review of these tires, I will be doing a follow up review once I put more miles on them. They replaced the original 16 Dunlop SP Sport 7000 A/S that came equipped on my Accord sedan. I had them installed and took them on a short road trip the very next day which was perfect for breaking the tires in. I didn't get to test the handling as...  Read More

Tire Rack Consumer Review of the Dunlop SP Winter Sport 3D

This is the 3rd set of 3D's I've owned. First on my E46 330i and now on my M3. Just swapped out for a new set this season and again, these tires transform my BMW into an actual driveable car in the snow. I cannot state more strongly how solid these tires are, and more importantly, how other BMW drivers must swap out their performance rubber in the winter...  Read More

Tire Rack Consumer Review of the Continental ExtremeContact DWS

Got caught in a driving snow-storm on I-81. Left the highway and had to make my way up and down hills for about ten miles to get to a hotel to wait out the weather. At that point there was about 4-6 inches of snow and the roads were completely unplowed. It was packed down in most cases but I still had to bull-doze my way through drifts a couple times.I...  Read More

Tire Rack Consumer Review of the Pirelli Scorpion Ice & Snow

Incredible tire. All of my questions were answered immediately when the snow came hard the first week of installation. I've run Blizzacks, Dunlop winter sports, and others but these lead the pack. They took the trip to Florida and back so well I'm leaving them on year round. Barely any noise and none above my wifes chirping. Thanks to all reviewers who were...  Read More

Tire Rack Consumer Review of the Dunlop SP Sport Signature (W- or Y-Speed Rated)

Purchased this tire in pairs, because funds were tight. I was replacing a set of Prime well tires that were on the car when I bought it. I tend to drove very aggressively, fast acceleration and stopping. I live in an area where I have ample opportunity to travel curvy roads and have never lost traction when cornering hard. Even when traction is lost on...  Read More

Tire Rack Consumer Review of the Dunlop Winter Maxx

3,500 miles of mixed dry and light snow (<4) and i have to say that i do recommend this tire versus no snow tire at all. They PALE in comparison to my old Blizzak ws-60 (sadly not offered anymore) because the Wintermaxxx's have a more standard tire design for dry comfort and noise, instead of thick chunky tread blocks that are unparalleled on snow and ice. With that more traditional design, the blocks are much closer together, giving slightly less traction on snow and ice than the Blizzaks. As this is a sport coupe, I took my time on heavy snow and anything more than 5 mph would cause the car to slide sideways. The tires did a good job at gripping upon braking however, and I know that my summer tires would simply spin. While not the very best winter tire, Dunlop has made a good overall tire for the 90% of winter in NJ that is dry and salt-covered. Treadwear has been very good with rubber stips still apparent after 3,500 of generally easy miles. Handling is appropriate for a winter tire, which is to say much softer than a standard tire, but that's to be expected. For the price, I'd recommend these to anyone looking to have a safe commute in winter months. Adding some weight to the trunk (RWD) and applying smooth acceleration will give you best feedback with these tires. I know many companies are creating winter tires that mimic summer tires for noise and comfort, but bring back the blocky tread design Dunlop! Overall, well executed tires at a reasonable price. Much cheaper than crashing and dealing with insurance premiums for years!   Read More

Tire Rack Consumer Review of the Dunlop SP Winter Sport 4D

Purchased these tire along with some 16 wheels as a winter set up for my IS300 and I'm happy with my investment. Is300 is a small RWD car and getting around in the snow on all season tires last year was scarry not to mention potholes ruined two of my low profile 17 tires. Two days after putting these on I had to drive through about 2 of unplowed frozen...  Read More

Tire Rack Consumer Review of the Dunlop Sport Maxx RT

Did not get a chance to drive on these much before switching to winter tires, which are a MUST in the climate where I live. I actually liked these tires a lot and were a good choice of size and composition for the car. There will probably be other contenders when replacement is necessary, but I will run these until that time comes.   Read More

Tire Rack Consumer Review of the Michelin Pilot Super Sport

Loved these tires. Second time i have them on 2 different cars. I would get them again, but I have to return my lease with RF tires. The ride and handling are both great, the noise is very controlled, until the end, when all tires get very loud. And they lasted 50% longer than the Dunlop RF's that the car came with.   Read More

Tire Rack Consumer Review of the Dunlop SP Winter Sport 3D

Bought a new set for my car, they perform great in snow/ice. However two of the tires blew out on a pothole within one week of purchase. Replaced both tires. Within two weeks, another tire had to be replaced because of a small puncture by a tiny pebble in the side wall. So I've purchased seven of these tires within four weeks. The pothole I understand, but...  Read More

Tire Rack Consumer Review of the Dunlop SP Winter Sport 4D

The M4 and my previous sets of M3's on two Subies are the best tire I've owned, period. One set was wearing down a bit more than I like in late spring, so I decided to take them into summer, couldn't wear them out. Great confidence on dry roads, off road mud, etc. I've been on glare ice where the ABS pumped a whole lot more than I would have liked trying to...  Read More

My wife wanted a Subaru Forester and we found one from an individual that had these tires already installed back in October of last year. I've owned Dunlops before and never had much luck with them but these tires did not disappoint. They have excellent winter traction and are surprisingly quiet for snow tires. Deep or light snow is no problem and I drove in...  Read More

Tire Rack Consumer Review of the Dunlop SP Winter Sport 3D

Excellent all around winter tire for areas receiving moderate snow. Majority of my driving in mid west where we experienced significant snow and ice this winter. Tires lean toward cold/dry performance over deep snow performance. Amazing responsiveness for a winter tire. Have had Blizzak on other cars and those are superior in DEEP snow. However Blizzak and...  Read More

Purchased these after my OEM Dunlops wore out. WHAT A DIFFERENCE the MPSS's make. The wet traction is almost unnatural. It is seriously unbelievable how well these grip in wet. I opted to go with a wider tire size (245) and shorter sidewall (40)So I was worried about harshness from uneven roads... NOPE! They actually ride much smoother than the OEM dunlops...  Read More

I used 3 sets of these and/or their grandfather (Dunlop Sport M2) over the last 14 years using them only during the winter. I'm now going to buy a new set of the next winter. I really like them for Seattle driving where water and wet snow is what I mostly drive on winter around town and in the mountains. They are true to their advertising: better tire than...  Read More

Tire Rack Consumer Review of the Bridgestone Potenza S-04 Pole Position

The best summer tires I ever had. My Mazda come from the factory with Dunlop Sport which I could not wait to replace. Bridgestone tires makes Mazda even more fun to drive. I drive about 12000 miles every summer in Michigan and the tires will last for one season, then in the winter I'm using Bridgestone blizzak, by the way those are other awesome tires. Tire Rack Consumer Review of the Michelin Premier A/S

Love! Love! Love! these new Michelin Premier AS tires. I replaced Dunlop Sport tires that came on the car when I purchased the vehicle new. These tires are MUCH quieter and MUCH smoother riding than the Dunlops. I blew a tire at 28k miles and had to replace all 4 because my SUV is AWD. I purchased Michelin for my Corvette and love them on that car so thought...  Read More
