Going Up? SUV and Truck Suspension Lift and Leveling Kits

Thursday, February 18, 2010 by Chad Hocker

Last week I spoke with a customer that wanted to get the Dick Cepek DC-1 for his truck but didn't have a lift on the truck to accomodate the Dick Cepek DC-1.  I was able to recommend the Traxda Lift and Level Kit which added enough lift to fit the Dick Cepek DC-1.  He then thought the deal over and called me back later that day purchasing the Traxda Lift and Level Kit with the Dick Cepek off road wheels and tires for his truck.  Saving $50 a wheel on the closeout Dick Cepek DC-1 he was able put the savings on the Dick Cepek wheels towards the purchase of the Truxx Lift and Level Kit.

Superlift Supension Systems at Tire RackTire Rack carries truck supsension lift and leveling kits from Traxda and also Super Lift Suspension Systems. If you're looking to put big all-terrain tires or mud tires on your truck, a lift kit can open up a whole new look for you on the road and off the road. Check to see which lift/leveling kit will work with your truck or SUV suspension at Tire Rack.

Off Road Wheels and Tires

Wednesday, January 13, 2010 by Tire Rack Team
Some vehicles are better than others for off-roading, but even the best off-road vehicle can only combat so much mud and sand without proper off road wheels and tires. They certainly work to your advantage—you wouldn't, for example, last very long on a hike without a comfortable pair of boots and some padded socks. Check out the following off-road truck wheels:

Dick Cepek DC-2 Ultra Grinder
Granite GA9

Enter the Upgrade Garage to see them on your vehicle, and to find matching off-road tires. Once you select your off road tires and wheels, we'd be happy to recommend an installer. Or, if you prefer, you can install them yourself. When purchased as a package, wheels and tires for trucks arrive premounted and balanced ready to bolt right on.

Dick Cepek Tires

Wednesday, December 16, 2009 by Tire Rack Team

Leave the highways behind and take your light truck or SUV off-roading. But first, you'll want a set of Dick Cepek tires:

Radial F-C II (On-/Off-Road All-Terrain): "I have experienced a lot of adverse driving conditions living in Alaska and Idaho, and these tires amaze me. The stopping power and maneuverability on snow packed/ice roads is the best I have seen so far. In slush, mud and muck they perform fine. Tire wear so far seems good." Tire Rack Consumer Review, Ford F250, ID

Crusher (Off-Road Maximum Traction): "These tires go, man. I put these on my Jeep since half its time is spent trailriding in the woods. They never let me down. They bit right into the mud with the same confidence, whether it was sloppy or congealed. They also saw plenty of snow and never gave it a second thought." Tire Rack Consumer Review, Jeep Cherokee, PA

Mud Country (Off-Road Maximum Traction): "The best mud tire I have ever had. It handles mud with no problem and the tread cleans easily. I have not got stuck yet and have gone through some big mud holes and sloppy fields...the tire is also very comfortable on the street as well, handling like an All-Terrain tire rather than a mud tire." The Easy Way to Find SUV Tires

Tuesday, September 29, 2009 by Tire Rack Team
Where to start, right? There are a number of things to consider when selecting the right SUV tires. The make and model of your vehicle and where you drive it can play a huge role. Do you need SUV snow tires? Maybe a set of all-seasons. Our Tire Decision Guide can help you with all of this, as it will pull together a few performance category recommendations based on driving conditions and what you'd like to get out of your tires.

Here are a few SUV tires that might be of interest:

BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A KO
(On-/Off-Road All-Terrain): For pickup trucks and SUVs that crave confidence and control on—and off—the road. Go-anywhere traction. Always. Sizes & Pricing, Specs

Dick Cepek Radial F-C II (On-/Off-Road All-Terrain): Tough radials. Large sizes. No matter what terrain you travel on, this tire is designed to grip. And thanks to stone kickers, it's self cleaning. Definitely a bonus. Sizes & Pricing, Specs

Dunlop Radial Rover RVXT (On-/Off-Road All-Terrain): On-road comfort meets off-road traction. Even in the snow, thanks to a 4-rib independent block tread pattern that extends over the shoulders onto the sidewalls. Deep grooves help with hydroplaning, too. Sizes & Pricing, Specs

And if you do buy SUV tires from Tire Rack, let us know what you think of them. We're always looking for customer feedback.
