I have had this tire for about 2 months on my 08 MB E350 4 MATIC and the car drives better than new. Great traction on the autobahn, performed very well in the Alps last weekend. This tire is very quiet, stops well, great handeling, and as stated, it makes my car drive as if i just picked it up from the dealer barnd new. I highly recommend this tire. ADM

I just had these tires installed, so far they are great. I haven't really had a chance to push the limits on them since, its still around 40 degrees and its a summer tire. The road noise is minimal, i would say the are just as quiet at the OEM Continental tires. They do have very stiff sidewalls which is nice, when it comes to steering input. If these tires keep up on how good they are doing, ill be mad i didn't purchase another set since they discounted them. If your still able to pick up a set from a tire dealer i would recommended getting them. Tire rack sent these to my door for $300, and i only had to pay $85 for mounting and balancing.

I don't know why so many manufacturers including Mercedes use this particular tire. These were expensive, noisy when new, badly cupped near the end of their life, and were bald as a ping pong ball at 25,000 miles, well short of the claimed treadlife. I drive about 25,000 interstate miles a year for work, so I thought I would at least get the claimed 40,000 miles. I had my dealer check the car out (still under warranty) to make sure the car wasn't causing any of these issues and they assured me it was these tires. They also couldn't believe I got more than about 20,000 miles out of them, which is the tread life they usually see.

Tires gave me a lot of problems from day 1 when I bought the car. There was impossible to drive this car on highways with speeds 70 mph and up ** 350 miles on it , these tires were putting my Durango in so much vibrations that I had a feeling that car is going to faul apart ** dealer could not replaced them for any other brand so he was just trying balanced them. After balancing all set 5 times ( 3000 miles on tires) let say he finally did it I decided to keep them on but I am not driving faster then 80mph on highways. Overall it is decent tire , good handling and braking in 6" of snow, good wet traction, good dry traction. Over 25000 miles on this set and lots of tread left but I am sorry Goodyear I can not wait to switch to Michelins or Continentals.

Only about 1K miles so far but very impressed. Took delivery of new 335i coupe w/M package and took off OEM RFTs before even leaving the dealer and put the Conti Extremes on. Extremely compliant without losing responsiveness. Ability to handle impact harshness is outstanding. Road noise is surprisingly very low for a high performance tire. Drove in downpour and tires were very stable and communicative. Time will tell in terms of how well these tires wear, but so far, I am extremely happy and would highly recommend.

I bought these tires last week to replace GoodYear F1 (steel belted showing). I bought this car a couple of months ago. The F1 was at the end of their life, so I can't comment on those. The Continental traction is great for everyday driving and accelerating. Handling is awesome even on wet roads. I can't comment on snow because we rarely get snow. It is probably in the 40's now and I raced a Trans Am red light to red light, easily taking him. The traction was great if you don't dump the clutch or drop the hammer. 540 HP at the wheel and something it gotta give. The second round with the Trans Am. I come to a stop because of traffic and he changes lanes. So he gets the jump coming around me. So I dump the clutch and drop the hammer. My brand new Continental extreme contact start spinning, the back end start fish tailing and then it hooks up and lauches me. These are great all around tires for everyday driving. I'm not a track driver but I enjoy the occasional street race. It is evident to me that I require two set of tires. These for everyday travel and a set for road racing. I will look to purchase a set of 555's and rimes for the rear. The supercharger is a beast and so far nothing has fully hooked up. If it ever does this thing will lauch into outer space. I have a stock set of SVT rimes, so no one carries a road racing tire in 19in rimes. I hope this helps your choice on purchasing these tires. Tire Rack purchase was flawless. I highly recommend tire rack and I search for two weeks on line before purchasing my tires from tire rack. Several places advertise no shipping but when you compare prices that is a false statement. My tires arrived in two days with standard shipping. These guys are awesome, even the local tire dealers recommend tire rack. They can't come close to touching these prices.

We placed these tires on our car one day after picking it up at the dealer. We knew that the RFT (Dunlop SportMax) would be Very stiff and would be dangerous in winter, so we went with the Conti DWS. Excellent tire! Understand that it is not going to handle like the summer only performance tire... But it is easily 80% of the way there. Steering isn't the immediate harsh imput of a true summer performance tire but it is still very quick. They stick like glue in sharp turns. After 9000 miles the tires still looked like new with no noticeable tread wear. Our car was totaled by huricane Sandy and we ordered the identical car from BMW.... And we will be placing Conti DWS on the new one as well. Very Satisfied Customer.

I was getting the Mini's annual check-up, oil change, etc., when the Mini dealer asked me if I'd like to go ahead and replace 4 tires. His exact words were, "It's time for your third set of tires." The car at the time had about 39k on it, and it was my first set - the garage manager was stunned. He didn't believe me asking again if I had every changed the tires - no. This is the first set and they have life left in them. I bought my own torque wrench and socket and rotate them myself about every 5k or so. Frankly it makes it easier to clean the wheels. Driving for us is average around town with about 4 or 5 1,500 mile highway trips tossed in. We don't drive agressively and don't do curvey roads more than usual. ONE NOTE: One of the tires has suffered three flats, all puncture wounds, all debris from road including one object that was literally 1/4" square. All three times I was able to have tired repaired with no issues. here's the kicker - all three punctures were within 5 inches of each other on the SAME tire over about 15 months' time. I wish my luck were that good on the lottery.

It's now time to buy again and my wife said, "Why wouldn't you buy these tires?" I guess that settles it. I'm very pleased.

These came on my certified pre-owned Audi A4. The dealer installed them prior to delivery. Maybe it's the Quattro system on my car, but I had zero trouble driving on inch-thick ice and snow at moderate highway speeds (50 mph). I was very surprised at this, as these tires do not make obvious claims about being good in snow/ice by the way the tread pattern was designed. They were a little noisy when brand-new, but they seem to have gotten quieter and smoother after initial break-in. I think a set of Continental ExtremeContact DWS will be in order next time around. I had those on my old BMW and they were AMAZING, but I would not be opposed to having these Hankooks again. I already have a giant screw in one, so it's likely ruined. I recommend road hazard tire coverage if you live in Atlanta, lots of rubbish in the roads here.

I must say I am disappointed with these tires. They are not very uniform with noticeable runout. Even though they were installed at my BMW dealer to BMW specs, there is still vibration, though balanced down to 1 gram. Of course, when this sort of thing happens, it really highlights one of the biggest problems buying tires online: it's much harder to have this kind of thing handled without paying a significant amount to have the bad tire(s) dismounted and shipped back, and then there's the wait while new ones arrive. I never had uniformity/ride issues with Michelin. I have learned my lesson. I'll be looking for someplace local to buy my next set. The relatively small amount of money saved isn't worth the hassle.

WOW! For the price of a new set of tires I am driving a new car. My 2009 Volvo XC70 T6 has never handled so well. Not in the 27,000 miles of the soft, non-descript "boulevard" ride with the OEM Continental 4x4 Contacts. Not in the 225 miles of the better-but-bumpy, out-of-round Continental ExtremeContact DWS tires that were returned to the dealer for replacement after just two weeks. Now, with the Bridgestone Turanza Serenity Plus tires, I have a car that is fun to drive -- like my 2005 Subaru Outback GT of seven years ago. Who knew that the Volvo could handle so well. On the straight away the tires track true and feel rock-solid, with virtually no correction input needed. On sweeping Interstate on-ramps taken at high speed -- 70 mph+ -- the tires feel so steady, secure and "planted" that it would take a giant crowbar to break them loose. On the few runs at 85 mph I have never felt more confident. The bottom line: in the previous 27,000 miles driving the Volvo was simply something I did; now, with the new Turanza Serenity Plus tires on the car, driving is something I look forward to DOING!

I have this on our 2010 Outback - the tires do not hold balance very well at all! Every rotation we had to have all 4 rebalanced and they needed sizable changes in balance weight. A sign the tires are not that great. Also by about 30,000 miles the tread left was not winter quality. Overall I think these tires are designed very soft to enhance the test drive off the dealer lot and were not designed for long term use and performance.

These were OEM on the car when it arrived. By 5,000 miles of mild driving tire noise was loud. By 12,000 miles the howling noise from the tires was so unbearable above 30 miles per hour that you couldn't hear the radio and I couldn't bear to drive the car. Audi dealer said the noise was probably from "uneven wear" even though the tires were rotated, aligned and balanced every 3,000 miles. Dealer offered me a replacement set for $1,100 but turned it down to get something else.

Do to limited options through my local installers, I am reluctantly putting a second set of these OE tires on my GLK. 32,000 miles is not completely unacceptable as I consider myself a hard driver, but at a premium price, this tire isn't really worth it. A 235/50 R19 is a farely odd size tire, and if I could find them I'd be going with Bridgestone Dueler H/Ls at 2/3 the price.
I can't complain about the traction or ride so far. In dry conditions, even now with wear bars close to showing, it's pretty quiet and still corners well, but it is July and that's not the true test of a tire in the Northeast. During my first winter, these tires performed exceptionally well, although it could have a lot to do with the MB's 4-matic system which i have had on 4 cars now and swear by. But like many reviewers, I did notice a sharp decline in traction during this past winter in which the tread was probably about half worn.
At 32,000 I could probably squeeze another late summer/fall out of them except for the 2 small nails and a cut in one of the treads due to the incessant road construction near my home for the past year. Since I return the car in 6 months, I'm willing to forego the lack of treadware and hope this new set performs as well as my last ones did when they were new. Then pass the headache back to the dealer that gave it to me. But based on value, they would never be my first choice.

Initial Review, 20,000 Miles on Tires
July 29, 2012

Tires are on a car that I drive on average 80-90mph on the highway every time I'm on it. The car was bought used with 44k mi and I now have 65k mi with the same tires on the car. I don't know how many miles were on the tires before I bought it so there could be more! I do know this: These are LRR grand touring tires but perform like high performance tires. I've got at least another 10k mi. before I MIGHT have to change them out. In the snow, I only slid in slush because I was testing it's performance. In the rain, I can consistantly take off ramp curves at 50mph without drama. They've only recently once acted like they wanted to hydroplane while I was doing 85mph in a downpour. Slowing down stopped that. I did have an issue with air escaping one of the tires but filling the tires with N2 solved that. I take turns consistently around 35mph in the city and I don't have a problem with grip, even when city streets are wet. This (and any tire's) performance is greatly affected by incorrect tire pressure. They were squealing when cornering for a couple of days after I left the shop and checking my tire pressure, I found the dealer pumped up my psi. Reducing it to the correct pressure eliminated that. Last week to S. Carolina, they stuck firmly to the road as I was doing 90mph through the curves of W. Virginia and when I had to swerve (not careen) around a pail rolling around in the road.

I don't understand the bad experiences that other people have with this tire. This is an excellent tire....if you take care of it! You have to rotate your tires. You have to balance your tires. You have to check your psi on all your tires. Don't mislead others just because you roll around with 20 psi in your unbalanced tires that haven't been rotated in 10,000 miles and complain about premature wear, excessive road noise, soft sidewalls, or a blowout. Thats not a poor, faulty tire. That's a poor faulty operator.

These tires were original to my car when purchased. Had I known how bad they were with wet traction I would have asked the dealer for different tires before I bought this car. I have a hard time driving when it's wet or raining. You have to baby the throttle in this car with these tires when it's wet out. The traction control is working overtime just trying to keep you on the road unless you are going way less than the posted speed limits. It feels unsafe at normal speeds when it's wet out. When it's dry it's an average tire at best. The cornering stability is very shaky. They are unpredictable when transitioning switchbacks. If you like to actually drive your European Sports Sedan then ditch these at the earliest and get some Continental Extreme Contact DWS's.

Having gone through three sets of tires, the original run flats, and two sets of Goodyear Eagle f1 all seasons, the Continental DWS have been the best all-season tires for my z4!

I average about 20k miles a year and am finally looking forward to putting those miles on these tires. The Goodyear’s were great, handled well, in dry, rain and snow, but the road noise was unbearable. With the Continentals, you can actually hold a conversation, while driving, top up or top down! Having the sport package on my Z4, I figured I was destined to live with a harsh suspension, with the Contis my Z4 rides so smooth, so quiet I am now hearing the audio capacity of my stereo! However the smoother, softer ride has made me slowdown in turns and curves that I have taken at speed with the other tires.

I have driven through four days of torrential downpours in the Midwest on two different occasions since the tires were installed and the performance was absolutely flawless, as if driving on a dry road.

I have not driven the Continentals in the snow, yet, as I just had them installed this spring, but the reviews here are placing these tires higher than the Goodyear F1s and they were pretty impressive, so I look forward to winter driving and will report on their performance then.

I will definitely buy again and highly recommend these tires. I had done research on these tires for some time and was even more convinced when the tire dealer showed me that he had them installed on his own BMW, reassuring to say the least, and he has been pleased with their performance and has purchased several sets.

Initial Review, 200 Miles on Tires
May 19, 2012

I purchased these tires 2 days ago replacing a set of four Michelin Pilot MXM4. In my honest opinion, I don’t know what Honda was thinking when they decided to use that as an OE tire.

The Michelin were ok to say the least. For the price one would pay for the Michelin ($214/tire for my car), you'd expect well above par performance, ride comfort, etc.

I was originally looking to get a set of Continental ExtremeContact DWS; however, these stuck out because of their price ($120/tire) and the survey rating matched that of the continental tire and the $50 MIR.

So far, the car has been a joy to drive again. I just bought the car 6 months ago and the front tires, which were new from the dealer, went from 9/32” to 4/32” in 6 months, 12000 miles. They have restored my faith in the cars agility, grip, smooth ride, noise level and a host of other things. What I love doing is not braking when I make turns so I love making sharp turns. The tires don’t even let go of the pavement for a second.

I literally got the tires two days ago so I haven't done any extensive driving and the weathers been relatively warm. I’ll post back in a few months with as soon as the tire sees some rain and I’ll post back in the winter for the snow. But for now, these tires are absolutely great for the price and their value.
