I bought these tires from shop as Continentals that i wanted were not available. Levis in buffalo recommended these and I'm glad he did. very smooth ride on highway and great traction in severe rain. We just finished winter and never had a worry driving through any snow conditions. i would buy these again.

I have had this tire for about 2 months on my 08 MB E350 4 MATIC and the car drives better than new. Great traction on the autobahn, performed very well in the Alps last weekend. This tire is very quiet, stops well, great handeling, and as stated, it makes my car drive as if i just picked it up from the dealer barnd new. I highly recommend this tire. ADM

There was no snow for the first month of the tire use, so when we got a few inches, I took the Miata to a parking lot to see how the tires would perform. Donuts, quick stops, quick acceleration were all tested. It's a rear wheel drive roadster so there was fishtailing, but the Miata does that with the forecast of snow. I was really impressed with the Continentals. I was able to control the slides and was able to recover every time, no matter how hard I pushed the car. I have had all season/mud & snow tires from Pirelli (P Zero Nero's), Dunlop, Goodrich (Super Sport M/S)...the Continentals beat them all. We'll see how they do in deep snow, but so far, so good!

Was looking for a tire for my bmw 330xi, the OE Continental Tires were junk, worn out in 30k miles and very susceptible to road hazards. The Michelin have been wonderful, gave up a little in handling but got a tire that was reliable and durable. I use separate tires in winter, so can't comment on winter handling.

This is a nice tire for rainy days. It handles pretty well in corners but a little noisy in the highway. Treadwear is poor. With 18K miles on it, it looks like there is about 8-10K left on it. I have seen worse on a Kumho but still, this one is also a bust. Spend more on a Michellin and get extra miles.

Excellent winter tires for my truck. They performed well in all conditions (dry, wet, snow, ice and slush, as well as cornering, acceleration and stopping). In deep snow, my truck did some fish-tailing as I had no weight on bed and I could feel it pushes the front wheels through the snow. Once I turned the 4x4 on, the truck went like a charm through the snow and didn't flinch a bit. After one winter with 10k miles, there is a noticeable tread wear on rear wheels compared to front wheels which still looks like new. Will have to rotate them after 5k miles next winter.

Bought a set when my OEM Michelins wore out after 50K miles based on reviews here and elsewhere. Unfortunately, aside from good traction in snow I have had no reason to like these tires. I have had consistent vibration issues at highway speeds even though I have had the tires balanced numerous times, alignment done, etc. In addition, now at 10,000 miles, the road noise is getting worse and noticeable.

After putting 51,000 miles on my OEM tires (Hankook Optimo H431), it was time to replace them. I must say that I was very pleased with the Hankook tires and had always thought I would go back with them. But when the time came, I took a look at every option that was available. What really sold me on the Continental PureContact tire was the warranty, UTQG, and price. All three points were much better then the OEM Hankook tires. Also, I opted to size up from P225 to P235 which gives me alittle taller and wider tire with abit more sidewall for ride comfort. While I might have lost alittle dry cornering from the OEM tires, I have gained in ride comfort, less road noise, better traction in rain or snow, and I believe alonger lasting tire. I am a VERY spirited driver, and I must say that these tires give me confidence in all weather conditions. I'm already saying that when it comes time to replace these tires that I'll buy them again.

Now that it is warm again I am finding how great these tires are in the wet and dry. I feel confident in all weather conditions with these tires. Highly recommended! This GT replaced an '08 CTS that was equipped with Continental DWS. I'll take the P Zero Nero over the Conti DWS any day.

Love this tire. If you own a Subaru, put these tires on your car. I own three Subies, and they all get wrapped in ExtremeContact DWS as soon as I can. Water evacuation is awesome in shallow or deep road rivers. Road force balanced the tires when they were put on and haven't needed to adjust to date. What they slightly lack in winter (deep winter, regular winter they are great) they make up for in the overall category. Dry sand, wet sand, moist mud, deep sloppy mud, and a mix of manure and mud (on the farm if you haven't figured that out already.) I have not been stuck, stopped, or buried. With a quick flick of the gas pedal to clean the tread they will keep chugging right along with Conti pride!! They have a slight wiggle when cold from sitting overnight outside but after 5-10 min of driving it is business as usual

Replaced Continental's that only lasted 40,000 miles. Ride and handling much improved. Noticed roughly 2 mpg improvement which is the main reason I did the research and purchased tires. Great stabililty even on this very heavy crossover. Price much better than comparable Michelin's. Gas savings will more than pay for tires.

These tires will not give up their traction, my ABS will not activate, the car just comes to an immediate halt. On curves, everything inside my car will slide before the tires do. They never have, not even on highway 'decreasing radius' exit ramps. Beware they have no traction on snow or ice.

April 09, 2013

Bought these to replace my worn out Pirelli Scorpions. Thinking spring had arrived I pulled off my Blizzak WS-70's and put these on. As luck would have it, 3 days later we got hammered with almost 2 feet of snow. Very quickly found out how good my Blizzak's really are. Calling these "All Season" tires is being optimistic. Traction in loose snow (after roads were plowed) is marginal at best. Cornering in loose snow caused the front end to plow and the traction control to activate immediately. Deep snow (unplowed roads) resulted in lots of wheel spin and darting. To be fair, I didn't buy these for winter driving and I did get a chance to evaluate them on dry roads prior to our spring snow. Road noise is low to moderate. Not as quiet as my Pirelli's but not annoyingly so. Haven't seen wet roads yet so I can't comment on how these do on them. Dry traction feels good but there is a small amount of sidewall squirm that you can feel in cornering. We have a lot of rutted roads thanks to the use of studded winter tires and these tires wander around when you get in a rut. It's not uncontrollable but it does make me feel a little loose compared to the OEM tires. I only have 500 miles on the tires so maybe they will get better as they break in and the roads warm up. I'll write a followup review in another 1000 miles to see if this is the case.

Initial review:

So far, I am very pleased with these tires. They are comfortable and quiet. I am still within the break-in period, so I have not had a chance to test any other aspects of the tires. They do seem less responsive than my previous Bridgestone Potenzas (which were almost completely bald) but that could be due to tread squirm on the new tires. I would definitely recommend these tires for any passenger car, but haven't tested their performance capabilities yet, so I don't know if I would recommend them for sports cars.

Good tire used on road and off road, on the road good wet braking and cornering no hydroplaning even in heavy down pours. Good in the snow and light and deep both. Off road in the deep snow up to the sides of the 4Runner they worked well in 2WD. Did need to engage 4WD to get out of over a foot of deep snow while off road. It was while helping someone off the side of the road. Considering the design isn't an off road design they did pretty well. Tire noise is minimal and fuel economy was much better than the Dunlop Grandtrek AT20s they replaced. The 4Runner used to get 17 mpg in town driving after mounting the Conti's the mileage came up to 18 to 19 on avg in the summer. Used them for some off road in the desert and they did fine on National Park and State Part dirt roads. Some wash outs and sand gravel and rocks nothing serious. Not a real off road tire but a good one for what it's designed for street and highway and mild off road. This is only a 20000 mile report will see how they age and resist hydroplaning as the tread wears out. So far I'd strongly recommend this tire.

Initial Review, 1,000 Miles on Tires
March 26, 2013

I replaced my Bridgestone Turanza Serenity tires with the Continental ExtremeContact DWS. I am very impressed with how quiet the ride is (I can faintly hear the engine at highway speed now), and the ride is smoother than the Bridgestones too. What impressed me most about the tires is the snow traction. This is not a car made to perform in the snow. My wife and small child got home from the airport in a snowstorm recently with no trouble and I was very happy to have chosen these tires, which were better in the snow than the Bridgestones ever were. I have a steep lip on my driveway, and it is difficult without 4WD in the snow - I was very surprised that the Continentals had no problem getting the car into the driveway that night.

The only negative I can say is that maybe they seem to drift a little bit more than the previous set I had on at highway speeds, but well worth it for the above improvements. I have only had them a couple months, so cannot speak to the durability yet, but at this price and performance vs. the Michelins I was considering, I would be ok to replace at 40k instead of 50k.

I had a 2009 Genesis 4.6 and purchased my first A/S plus after my Michelin HXMX4's wore out at 40,000 miles. These tires were very responsive and a nice improvement during canyon driving. After 5,000 miles I traded the 2009 in for a 2012 Gensis 5.0 R Spec. I replaced the OEM Continentals after 1,000 miles, Conti's were too cushiony for a vehicle like the R Spec. Had the 245 45 ZR 19's put on and were night and day better than the OE Conti's. I enjoy driving in the canyon roads of southern CA and these tires have not disappointed. Tread wear is not an issue and wet/dry performance is impressive. For a vehicle with 429 HP these A/S Plus tires are doing a great job. I drove in the San Bernadino mountains a few weeks back after a good snowfall and I didn't experience any issues with traction. This is my second set, one for each vehicle, and I am extremely satisfied with these A/S Plus tires

Purchased these to replace Bridgestone 960A/S that lasted 73000 and no longer had tread depth for any snow. The Conti DWS tires really offer a far superior winter experience. In icy slush last night I had no wheel slippage on fairly steep hills. Something the 960A/S could never have done even when new. The trade off is in dry handling: I notice more roll in turns and less on center feel. So far tire seems to be a little quieter. Overall very happy and after experiencing the winter performance would highly recommend.

Initial Review, 5,000 Miles on Tires
April 02, 2013

I purchased this tire to replace an aging set of Continental ContiProContact tires that were on the car when I bought it. Let me say first that these tires are an enormous upgrade over the Continentals. I commute 35 miles each way to work and the weather in Northeast Ohio is nothing if not unpredictable. These tires have given me a tremendous amount of confidence in every situation I've encountered. Wet and dry traction is outstanding but it's the wet traction that really stands out. I have never had more confidence at speed on slick roads. I enjoy throwing my car around as much as possible and these tires are an ideal compliment to my driving style. At highway speeds they are quiet, comfortable, and have a reassuring sense of straight ahead. I've made it through one winter now and although these tires are not particularly good in deep snow, they are passable. Performance in light snow is excellent. I would highly recommend these tires to anyone looking for a meaningful performance upgrade over a standard all season tire. In addition, with their combination of wet and dry capability, I think these tires are a tremendous value in the Ultra High Performance All-Season class.
