Many of the run-flat tires on cars today are summer-only tires that are not designed for cold climate use (an area that sees consistent temperatures below 40 degrees).

The solution to the summer run-flat tire is simply...a winter run-flat tire.

The LM-25 4x4 RFT from Bridgestone is absolutely the best winter tire I have ever driven on. Exceptional ice and snow traction and great cold weather bare pavement performance. Made the mistake of trying Pirelli Scorpion Ice and Snow last winter. They weren't exactly confidence inspiring. The Bridgestone's on my X5 are awesome. My X5 drives better in snow than my Land Rover with A/T tires w/ the snowflake rating.
