Best tires I have ever bought in my 50 years of buying tires! I rode on the factory installed Dunlop Sport 5000 tires and was disappointed that Hyundai would install such a hard riding and noisy tire on their luxury vehicle. After buying the Yokohama Avid Ascends, my Hyundai Genesis rides like a true luxury automobile like I expected when I bought it. I bought these tires and the next day we had a snowstorm. They handled extremely well in the snow and are awesome on dry pavement. As a bonus, because they are LRR (Low Rolling Resistance) tires, my mileage improve almost 2 miles per gallon. They are also made in America so we keep a few jobs here and that's not so bad either!

I have run all brands over the years, This was the first time to try Yokohama tires, I live in Lake Tahoe Nevada, I get the most varied conditions, Lets start with, ice, deep snow, light snow, heavy rain, highway and off road conditions, sand on the beach in Baja, beach launching boats in Baja,I also tow a 15k 5th wheel and many boats, One trip to Cabo San Lucas towing the 5th wheel on roads in Mexico,so in otherwise put to what I would call an extreme test.Buy them and don`t look back,

After driving my Genesis on factory installed Dunlop 5000 Sport tires for 8000 miles, I switched them for the Yokohama Avid Ascend tires. I have finally gotten the luxury ride that the Genesis was supposedly designed to give. It is too bad that Hyundai, who put a lot of thought into their luxury vehicle went ahead and ruined it all by putting on a set of inferior tires. The Yokohama Avid Ascend tires are the best tires I have ever owned! They grip exceptionaly well, are extremely quiet and give a nice soft but firm ride. I couldn't be more pleased with these tires. As a bonus, because it it a LRR tire, I have also gotten another 2 miles per gallon in overall fuel economy. I would recommend these tires to anyone.

CRAP - horrible treadwear! The developed a defect (uneven treadwear) on 2 of the 4 tires that were stored in a heated garage all winter............I will never buy a tire from this manufacture ever again! Always drove Michelin, you pay for what you get in life! OE tires are usually not that good with soft compounds, this is the worst OE tire I have ever had in my life (I flip cars every 2 years)! Stay away from these!!! CRAP!

I purchased these tires for my xB based on several factors, the 2 most important being the excellent reviews for being quiet, and the next, having an 80k mile treadwear warranty. I noticed on other reviews that several people seem to be wearing them out rapidly tho :(

The tires have a nice, assymetrical tread, the rain grooves are wide, contributing to excellent handling in the wet. They do indeed give a very quiet ride. The rubber is soft compared to other tires I've used, so the mileage issues might be real. Overall ride is excellent. A friend installed them for me and he commented that they were very "true" and took hardly any wheel weights which tells me they have excellent manufacturing tolerances.

My vehicle is light and doesn't have the best of suspension so I'm very pleased so far at how well these tires perform. I'll update my review as I rack up some real mileage :)

Initial Review, 20 Miles on Tires
March 31, 2010

Just put these on my 2003 X5 3.0 Sport this morning. Took them out for adrive to get a feel for them having come off of Michelin Latitude Tour HPs. I ran the Latitude's for 42k miles which is high for this tire on the X5 (negative camber kills inside treads).

While early, the difference between the Latitude and Envigor is, the Michelin has a slightly softer sidewall giving a more supple ride whole the Envigor has a slightly stiffer feel. Turning is super easy on the Envigor and you can easily feel the tread set in a full turn while accelerating.

On bumps, again the Envigos is slightly more stout while the Latitudes has a little more cushion. Having the Sport suspension on the X5 I am okay with this difference as it does not make the ride uncomfortable or harsh.

Braking grip feel good, very similar the Latitudes. Acceleration felt normal, good grip and no squealing or slippage.

I bought the Envigor base upon what I was reading online about the tire and it abilities. For $100 less per tire than the Latitude's I believe Yokohama is delivering high value to the market with the Envigor.

Being a business person, one can assume that 30% the cost of a product is advertising expense. So with the Latitude costing around $260 per tire for my car, that means $75 per tire can be advertising which means the value proposition difference between the Latitudes and Envigors is pretty close.

Overall, with such a short ownership experience to date, I am happy with my initial impression and will report back over time. If I get another 42k miles from these Envigors I will consider my choice fabulous as I saved over $300 choosing the Yokohama Envigors over the Michelin Latitude Tour HPs.

I had been through 2 sets of Goodyears on my Nitro by 80,000 miles. They were expensive and should have been replaced at 30,000 miles, but I pushed them to their limit. They were decent for about 18,000 miles, then they became real susceptible to hydroplaning and had a real hard time in any type of wet weather. These are the tires I am comparing the Geolanders to.
So far, with these Geolanders, I cannot say enough good things about them. They literally seem to stick to the ground when its wet. I am able to take corners and accelerate without spinning the tires in any weather. We also use my Nitro to launch our boat, and at low tide, the boat ramp is a slimey, algae covered mess and these tires do not slip at all. Costing me much less then the Goodyears and making my daily commute much safer is pretty impressive. I've also read that they last longer and since I rotate them alot, I am planning to get the most out of them. I will surely buy another set, one day.

Had multiple problems with the OEM tires on this car. Noisey, poor handling, very bad wet handling. The traction control was constantly fighting the tires. I put these Yokohama Avid Ascends on it and all of the above disappeared. These are the best tires I have ever had, including some Michelins. Quiet, smooth comfortable ride, steering is now precise, car goes down the road effortlessly. Highly recommend them!

Bought these to replace OEM Michelins which still had some tread at 52,000 miles but were fairly noisy, and had lost handling, especially wet traction. Given 560AA treadwear rating, thought I would get close to 60,000 miles out of these, but 1 tire is already completely worn to the bars, despite rotation every 5000 to 7500 miles. 1 tire was replaced at 25,000 miles due to massive puncture. The other 2 tires have about 5,000 miles treadlife left. Tire handles extremely well, but not as good as Bridgestone 960 s.

After only 20000 miles I had to replace the original factory Bridgestone RE-92. I changed size to a Plus 0 opting for a size wider and a profile lower. I have the S-drive on my '89 BMW E30 and now my Yaris can have the added benefit. Much better in the wet. While not having the ultimate grip of the RE-92, they are easier to read when driving agressively and with an improved tread wear rating should see much longer life. At 2/3 the cost of the bridgestones ot Michelin they allow for guilt free fun. Granted this is on a yaris. Still enjoying on/off ramp play on the way to work. I have two sets for my BMW. One 50 series for the track amd a 55 for the street. Always predictable and twice the tread life of an A-008 or Toyo T-1R with limited loss of ultimate grip.

I bought these tires for use on my 2 minivans in Okinawa, Japan and am extremely happy. The roads on Okinawa are well known locally for the slippery roads due to the use of coral as an aggregate in the concrete. So far these tires have not slipped or spun where my other tires usually did. No spinning tires when leaving a traffic light on wet roads. No slidding whatsoever when cornering on wet roads. They seem to be a little noisier at higher speeds for the around here. (80KPH or around 50 MPH) I have not had them on long enough to rate the treadwear or the winter conditions. (It never gets below around 50 degrees F) All in all I am very happy with the value I got for the price. Another thing worth noting is the speed of shipping from the website, all 8 tires arrived within 8 days of placing my order. Highly recommended tires!

These tires perform much better than the Yokohama Avid S on my Prius. I saw an increase in my mpg by about 2-3mpg. They do give off a floaty feeling but almost all LRR tires give off a floaty feeling. I recommend changing your stock tire from Yokohama to something else. My brake issue when driving and hitting bumps went away as soon as I replaced them with tires that had more traction. If you drive a Prius and would like to save on gas I recommend getting these tires. Especially when there is a $70 mail-in-rebate going on right now.

Replaced our OEM Michelin Enery MXV4 S8 tires with the V rated Yokohama Avid Ascend tires which are also a LRR tire. I would say my driving stlye is average to spirited at times. The tires balanced very well and so far all expectations have been met. I had them road force balanced which compensates for the heavy and light spots on the tires and rims matching them for a better balance. These are very quiet on the roads we drive(better than the Michelins), handling is very good, they track well, do not wander, and the ride is very good. Steering input seems very good as you are cornering. They are a nice looking tire, unfortunately, I can't comment on tread wear yet as I do not have enough miles on them. It seems that my MPG has stayed essentially the same as my Michelins so far. I am searching for the best inflation point and started at 40 PSI. I kept my Michelins between 40-42 PSI and got 70,000 plus miles out of them and still had 4/32" left on them when I replaced them. I am hoping to approach the 100,000 mile mark on the Yokohama tires since the treadwear rating is 740. Very pleased with all aspects of the tires so far. I have not had the opportunity to try them in all weather situations yet, but if they continue as they have so far, I am sure I will not be dissapointed. They have made my cars handling very predictable and comfortable. Note: I was advised that if the need arises to have a flat fixed the inner liner must be prepped carefully or tire damage can occur, so be careful who fixes your flats. Apparently it is due to the thinner inner liner in these tires.

Initial Review, 27,000 Miles on Tires

This Galant VR-4 has Full-time AWD & AWS. Check tire pressure weekly. Rotate front-to-back around every 7000 miles. Feedback from steering wheel and suspension is very sensitive so I know when something needs attention. I keep it aligned. The AWD on this car is hard on tires. These tires are lasting longer than the Falken ZE512's and ZE912's. When you consider that I live in Oklahoma, tire wear is amazing. Quieter and better ride than Yokohama Avid H4s. Yokohama took all the complaints about previous Avid's and tried to overcome those problems with this tire. Handles as good as Falken's. Handling test has consisted of coasting at 45-55mph into turns rated for 25mph--backs people off my rear bumper.

I bought these about three months after manufacturing month (3 week of May 2010). Date code on sidewall was interesting because on one side it has a raised, rubber bar-code. Manufacture warranty is ok. I think Yokohama did a good job. I checked the Yokohama site and they have a rating for these tires that closely follows my rating. (http://www.yokohamatire.com/tires/detail/avid_envigor). I bought them for $83/each. I see they are listed for $82 on 2012APR23. If I was certain that tires don't go bad while just sitting around (http://news.consumerreports.org/cars/2009/05/tire-aging-when-to-buying-new-car-tires-based-on-age.html or http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tiretech/techpage.jsp?techid=138), I would buy another set and just store them in the garage. I would definitely recommend these.

These Pilot Super Sports are amazing. They grip harder than anything I've ever felt, and my road noise is completely gone. I've been recommending these tires to everyone, and have yet to find anybody displeased with them. If you can afford these tires, don't think twice, just buy them.

I have always looked at Goodyear as an overpriced, under-performing, "brand name" tire. I took a chance, though, after seeing all of the positive reviews and checking the survey results. Despite my initial hesitation towards a Goodyear tire, I have found the ComforTred Touring to be a tire well deserved of it ratings. I replaced the OEM Yokohama Geo's, which were adequate, at best, in all conditions. Immediately noticed an improvement in noise and ride quality. Excellent in wet conditions with no hydroplaning in average to deeper water. We had a mild winter this year, but the tire did not disappoint in the snow we received, being sure footed with good starts and stops. Never felt that the tire was lacking or that dedicated snows would have been warranted. It is a Subaru, though. :)

Overall, the Goodyear ComforTred Touring has proven a quality tire that mates well with our need for this car, which is safety and confident transport of the family.

I BOUGHT 4 OF THESE TIRES FROM TIRERACK LAST SUMMER AND WAITED UNTIL I HAD ABOUT 10,OOO MILES ON THESE TIRES TO GIVE YOU AN ACCURATE REVIEW. THESE ARE EXCEPTIONALY GREAT TIRES. THEY RIDE MUCH SMOOTHER THAN THE OEM CONTINENTAL TIRES. THEY ARE QUIET AND VITUALLY SHOW VERY LITTLE WEAR WITH 10K MILES. THE HANDLING AND GRIP BOTH DRY AND WET IS SUPERIOR. I DROVE 160 MILES THROUGH THE INTENSE PART OF THE OCTOBER 2011 NORTHEAST (MA-CT-NY)FOOT OF SNOW AND ICE STORM AND NEVER SLIPPED ONCE! EXCELLENT SNOW/ICE TRACTION. THESE TIRES OUT PERFORM ALL MY EXPECTATIONS IN EVERY CATEGORY. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TIRE FOR ALL SEASON USE. MY WIFE DRIVES THIS VEHICLE MORE THAN ME AND SHE LOVES THE TIRES. I FEEL CONFIDENT WITH THESE TIRES ON HER CAR. I MISTAKENLY BOUGHT THE NEW KUMHO ECSTA 4X TIRES FOR MY MINI COOPER S FROM TIRERACK AND THEY RIDE NOTICEABLY HARDER THAN THE ENVIGORS, WISH I COULD TRADE THEM. I HAVE BOUGHT MANY TIRES IN MY LIFETIME AND THESE ARE ONE OF THE BEST. THEY HAVE A MODERN AGGRESSIVE LOOKING TREAD PATTERN WHICH IS APPEALING BUT THE TREAD PATTERN PICKS UP SMALL PEBBLES, THAT'S THE ONLY LITTLE ANNOYING DOWNSIDE OF THE TIRE.
