I have only had this tire for a few weeks but I wanted to get this out there. This tire is great. It made my truck ride like an entirely different vehicle for the better! there is really no discernable tire noise and it drives and handles like a dream. I will buy these for my other SUV as soon as the OEM junk gives out.

THIS IS WITHOUT A DOUBT THE BEST TIRE THAT I HAVE EVER OWNED. THEY ARE QUIET, SMOOTH, AND COMFORTABLE. BUT, BEST OF ALL THEY GIVE ME A FEELING OF COMPLETE ASSURANCE IN MOST EVERY CONDITION. I DO USE A STUDLESS SNOW TIRE IN THE WINTER FOR THE SNOW AND ICE WE HAVE HERE IN CENTRAL OREGON. BUT FOR DRIVING THE I-5 CORRIDOR IN DRY AND RAIN AND DRIVING OVER MOUNTAIN PASSES WHERE WE ENCOUNTER RAIN, SLUSH AND LIGHT SNOW, THESE TIRES ARE PERFECT. I RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE, IN ANY TYPE OF VEHICLE - PASSENGER CARS AND SUV'S. IF THERE IS A BETTER TIRE OUT THERE, I HAVEN'T FOUND IT. AND THE WEAR INDICATORS THAT TELL YOU WHEN THEY ARE NO LONGER GOOD FOR LIGHT SNOW AND ONLY WET AND DRY, AND THEN ONLY DRY ARE INNOVATIVE AND WELCOME! IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR THE BEST, THIS IS IT.

Tire racks review of this tire was bang on. Very happy with the tire like driving a new SUV. Handling and steering and drive comfort are great. Toyo tires which came with the vehicle never handle properly and in wet weather did not have confident in them.

Bought these tires in December. These were my first snow tires, and I picked a great winter (82" of snow this winter). The only times I got stuck were when I tried going through +10" of frozen snow and the small civic bottomed out. On the roads I had nothing but fun, easily passing suv's. Everyone always puts blizzaks on a pedestal, but I would recommend these as an underdog overperformer.

I have been extremely pleased with these tires. The tread wear for an SUV is amazing. I plan to replace these before winter so that I have good snow traction, but who knows how many more miles they could go. These tires are quiet and perform well in all conditions. The only comment was that they needed to be force balanced initially. The only tire I would buy again.

I bought these tires to replace OEM Goodyear Eagle LS2s. I immediatly noticed dramatic improvements in ride noise, ride quality and cornering stability. Can a tire be quieter, smoother and still outcorner its OEM predecessor? Absolutely. These tires are whisper-quiet and have a good dampening effect over rough surfaces. This is my second set: We are well into a set on my other car (a small GM SUV) and could not be more pleased with the treadwear, the noise level and the ride quality. Buy these tires. You will be highly pleased.

Running on run flat tires was the worst tire experience I have ever had within my 40 years of driving. The stiff sidewalks transmit noise. No more bang from pot holes and my X5 is now quiet at high speeds. I purchased one of the last discontinued X5 factory spares kits, but a tow service membership is a great all-around protection whether with or without a spare. My old run flat tires lasted for 30 thousand painful miles and the lower cost of the new non run flat tires equates to 20 thousand miles to break even. This SUV is now set up to run on the highway and is not going to see much off-road adventure that would justify stronger sidewalls. This is my summer tire and so far so good. Just completed my 500 mile trip from the Sacramento Valley to the Central Oregon Coast up the I 5 corridor. The diesel motor loved the added grip and mini vans faded away thru the mountains.

So this is my second set. I put 70000 on the first set and the right rear developed a slow leak. Went to the local Firestone dealer and he said these tires need to be replaced. I said they have plenty of tread. He said after 4 years the side walls have had too much sun and wear. You do not want a blow out at 80 mph. These tires have been driven close to 100 mph across Texas in the summer. They have handled Stevens Pass Washington in snow storms. They have been on soft sand in Hawaii, Washington and Maryland. I'm in the military and move a lot. Logging trails in Washington and Louisiana . Ice storms in Maryland and Washington. I carried chains in the winter in Washington, but never used them. I think the law thought I was 4x4. If I rode on sand often I'd get something else. I tow occasionally, light boats and utility trailers. They are not the quietest or smoothest tires. They do not have aggressive AT tread, but for a great all around SUV tire I think they are an awesome value. I change the oil every 5 k and rotate the tires every 10 k. Check the air about once a month. I hope to put over 250k on the Volvo. If I do I'll be on my third set of Destination ATs. I'm going to put them on my pickup as soon as the ome wear out. The ome on the Volvo didn't last 20 k. I do not own stock in Firestone.

I purchased these tires because the reviews on the most of the other options were poor. The tires have so far been a very good. The ride is soft and comfortable with very little noise. The wear rate has been good so far. The dealer just rotated them and reported no problems other then some very minor side wall issues. I think he was more interested in pointing something wrong out since I didn’t get the tires from that dealer.

These tires are great in the rain. No sliding or hydroplaning at all. We had an ice storm recently and the tires didn't do that great but the road was almost all ice. If there is any place I am disappointed it's in their performance in the snow. They are adequate but could be better. They lack the traction I’ve had with other SUV tires. They weren’t bad, just ok. Overall, so far, these tires have performed very well for the price.

I drive my SUV pretty hard (pretty much drive it like a AWD car) and these tires are so good, I have nothing to really say about them. They do everything as expected with no surprises. Traction in both wet and dry have been very good. Better than I expected for such a high UTQG rated tire. I haven't had a chance to drive in snow yet but hopefully that will happen soon and I'll update my review to add that. I would DEFINITELY recommend these for "city slicker" SUV's.

I have owned two sets of these Pirelli's. The first was on a company Subaru Outback. I was so impressed I ordered a set for my 2014 JCW Coupe. I took delivery of my car just before Christmas 2013 so I had them put on immediately before picking up the car from the dealer. We get a lot of snow and a lot of snow types from 7-11 slushy to deep packed here in Colorado, not to mention ice.

The reason you get these is because you want some performance capabilities along with good snow traction. I drive through mountains, prairie and just took a trip to Vegas on dry warm road. I left them on because I could still hit snow in the UT and CO mountains. We have had a lot of snow this year up until about March so these tires have really had a good trial in lots of snow and in warm weather in Vegas and NM.

The snow traction is amazing. I have Michellin Xice on my company Malibu, Blizzaks on my Mini Clubman S and these Pirelli's on the JCW. I have driven all in sequence in several types of snow and ice. All are good tires but these Pirelli's are my favorite. They handle extremely well in the snow. I went in a snow covered parking lot doing donuts with and without traction control. It was really difficult to break traction. On the highway and on some icy areas they are fantastic. No snow tires make you impervious but I believe these are the best short of studded. The main reason I like them is because of the terrific dry and even warm weather traction. They are superb. I will not autocross in them but in a normal sedan or SUV I would consider running them all year. They do not seem to wear excessively and cold, warm, wet, snowy or icy they are terrific. There are no deficiencies. For a snow tire I would actually give them a 10 in dry but I think that is for summer tires. I think for price and all around performance in a climate like I have, -25 in winter and temps can change 50 degrees in one day and different altitudes...this is a fantastic tire. You won't go wrong with these.

Initial Review, 5,000 Miles on Tires

I have used three brands of snows, Pirelli, Blizzaks and these Michelins. I have these on a corporate Malibu. I drive a LOT of city and through the Colorado Rockies and across prairie. I need a tire that will handle in most every temperature and condition and give me good stopping and handling in the city. These tires get worked very hard, especially in the city with quick starts at lights. If you are a city driver you know you may have seconds to make a left and you will tailgate the lumbering Buick, SUV or Camry in front of you to get through.

I will say this is an outstanding tire. I watched the videos here on Tire Rack and I cannot disagree. I love the Pirelli's and this tire in particular. I really cannot tell them apart in my driving so it is subjective. However, the Michelin's are holding up well as I drive a lot in the winter. These tires stay on minimum six months a year.

I took the Malibu out with these in a real slushy snow and it was passable. Nothing does really well in the slush as you ride up on it. I took my other car with Blizzaks and no difference. However, these tires bite, ride and recover well. They are really superb on dry road and warm weather, too. This is what I really appreciate. A Malibu is not a performance car but I drive it pretty hard, chirp the wheels frequently and push the front wheel drive. The back and front stay well planted and predictable. In the worst snow and ice the tires give good grip and minimum sliding with quick recovery. That is all you can ask. If the wear is good I am actually playing with the idea of putting these or some Pirelli winters on my Mini Countryman all year. I kayak and have an idea these will be good in sand and small rock near the rivers. Since I am in Colorado you can actually hit snow 12 months of the year in the mountains.
This is a great all around tire that should meet most needs. You can try and pick minute differences in tires but you will not go wrong with these.

Initial Review, 63,000 Miles on Tires
March 27, 2014

P255/65R16 106T Latitude Tour on an ML320 first series SUV. The tires are holding up well with just over 63k miles over 64 months. The first 18 months (14k mi) were in New England and the tires performed well through two northern winters. Snow traction was excellent as was wet traction. The last 48k miles have been in south Florida, mostly highway miles. Treadwear is excellent with about 4 to 5/32 of depth across the widths of each tire. (Tire rotation schedule and alignment issues with the car are main culprits for the uneven tire wear). Wet weather driving at highway speed in Florida has been great with zero hydroplaning (on 255s) along with confident braking. Dry weather driving is relatively quiet as is expected from all season tires. Mileage for the ML320 at highway driving is consistently 20mpg which I attribute 1-2 miles on the tire model. The previous tires were also Michelins but were H rated, lower tread life tires. I was initially concerned with "T" (118mph) speed rating, "B" temp rating, and 106 load index (2,094lb) for Florida drivers tend to consistently speed beyond the 70 MPH law. The ML is a heavy SUV with gross weight of 6000lbs. Front and Rear GAWR are 2550 & 3550 lbs respectively. A typical workday round trip is 140 miles highway driving 3-4 times a week. Additionally, was also concerned about the Florida heat and sun as the vehicle was not parked under cover for most of the last three years. As such, there is cracking all along the circumference of the tire walls (dry rot cracking, maybe). At this point, I am pleased with the performance and longevity of these Latitude Tours and may likely keep them on until the warranty period end (or another 2k miles). As a side note, I would purchase these again for a vehicle that I expected to keep a long time. These tires were a great investment. By the way, I love Tire Rack and will continue to purchase from them. Just replaced these with Conti CrossContact LX20 due to cost and remaining life of the Benz.
