Initial Review, 40000 Miles on Tires
February 07, 2012

Have had these tires for about 2 1/2 years and 41000 miles. Been very happy with them so far and have worn very well! I keep them rotated every 7500 miles. I did lose some mileage (1/2-1 mpg) with these tires running at my empty tire pressure. (60-45psi) I upped the tire pressure and mileage has been great since. (75-65psi). I have been very happy with the wet traction and have also had good performance in light mud and light to heavy snow (up to 14 inches) Tires look nice and aggressive but perform very mildly on the road. I should get another 10-15k out of them which is pretty good service for an A/T tire on a 2500 Diesel truck. Would buy again and would recommend to anyone looking for a good all around A/T tire.

We finally had snow this winter in New Castle County, Delaware and I just got home from going to the grocery store in the snow. These tires are wonderful in the snow and slush - the car never slipped and I never spun the tires. They are much better in snow and slush than the OEM Continental's that came on the car. They are better than the Bridgestone Blizzak WS-50's I had on my last car. The General Altimax Artic's are very impressive while driving in snow and slush - the the Bridgestone Blizzak WS-50's were never this good.
The General Altimax Artic's are noisy on dry pavement because they are studded.

This is the only 245/55/19 replacement for all 2008+ toyota highlander OE tires. Everybody know the OE bridgestone and toyo tires on highlander are ----. This is the only tire that met my expectation including dry, wet and snow performance. I am a skier and I need a all season tire that good on dry, wet and snow. This is what I got and I made a good choice. I have try them on dry, heavy rain and snow + icy road. It perform very good especially on the snow. The deep agressive tread makes my 4WD looks better, I mean sportier. Stop thinking twice. I highly recommend this tire for all highlander owners who wants to replace the bad quality OE tires.

Best snow tires I ever had. Live in Syracuse NY, and these things eat the snow up. The only complaint I have is that there very loud when dry, or wet. I would recommend these to anyone and planning on buying another set when the time is needed. Not the most sporty tires, but defiantly great for the winter season.

Nissan Murano Tires

Monday, February 6, 2012 by Gary Stanley
A close relative of mine recently needed replacement tires for her 2006 Nissan Murano. She was replacing the Original Equipment Goodyear Eagle LS tires. If you've reviewed our Tire Survey Results, you'll see that there are better options available. Here are three of the top tires I recommended for her in the Murano's factory tire size of 235/65R18.

BFGoodrich Long Trail T/A Tour
BFGoodrich Long Trail
T/A Tour
Continental CrossContact LX20 with EcoPlus Technology
Continental CrossContact LX20 with EcoPlus Technology
Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza
Bridgestone Dueler
H/L Alenza

Which Nissan tires did she choose? After discussing options with her, she chose the BFGoodrich Long Trail T/A Tour for its combination of treadwear, wet and snow traction, quiet ride and reasonable price.

I had the opportunity to drive on a set of these tires for a couple of days and must agree with the positive customer feedback and survey data that praises this tire. The ride was indeed smooth and quiet and had good snow traction during the 10-mile commute on snow-covered county roads. Here's what a few customers had to say about their experience with the BFGoodrich Long Trail T/A Tour:

"Living in the buckle of the snowbelt in Upstate NY, I researched carefully for tires to replace my OEM's and I have not been disappointed. The Long Trails perform magnificently in serious ice and snow conditions, rarely losing their grip - much superior to the Bridgestones they replaced. They are also quieter on the highway. After 17,000 miles, I detect almost no tread wear. And the warranty can hardly be beat. Outstanding value for the price." -- Tire Rack Consumer Review, 2006 Nissan Murano

"I am buying another set tomorrow! Tires have worn well, been quiet to drive on and mileage improved. Drives like butter! You will love them -- I am a Michelin man, but these were great since none were available last time." -- Tire Rack Consumer Review, 2007 Hummer H3

"Long Trail Tour proved to give much better results and handling than the original tires I had." -- Tire Rack Consumer Review, 2008 Nissan Armada

This is my second set of these tires. I got approximately 20,000 miles of winter duty out of the first set. I put another 5,000 miles over the summer in anticipation of replacing them for the winter of 2011-2012. These don't have the snow traction of a Bridgestone WS-50, which were superb on my Saab 9-3. What the LM-25 gives up in snow traction is more than made up in non-snow driving. They are a great winter run-flat for E-90 series BMWs.

I bought a 2012 accord from the local dealer when it was the first one on the lot and immediately switched out the tires from the OEM MICHELIN HX Mxm4s and I have definitely not had a better tire. I had a set of continental extreme contact DWS previously and thes by far out shine them in every category especially ride comfort and noise. We had a snow storm recently and I couldnt feel more secure in the slush ice and snow. I would recommend these tires to everyone if they ask.

I drive a 2007 Prius touring edition (stiffer suspension & +1 wheels. OEM were bridgestone potenze - garbage, I replaced with Flaken 912's - better handling but extremely rough riding - exceptionally loud and wore to tread bars within 25K miles. I replaced with these and have only 1000 dry miles (no rain or snow in S. Cal yet. But... amazing change! Like a new car: indescribably smoother ride, much quieter so that we can use the hands-free phone again, tracks like a porsche 911 and so ar has increased my fuel efficiency by about 2 mpg - combined city and freeway driving. Just a terrific choice and when spending this kind of money, you are always unsure about a decision when you can't easily swap tires if the choice is bad. You will not regret these. Just need to test the wet traction and wear life. GREAT TIRES - very happy!!

Not sure what everyone's talking about but i measure my tires with deph gage every 3 months there at half so these tire on my AWD GMC YUKON DENALI will last as described in the warranty miles. The traction in the deep snow and light snow is slightly less as wearing takes place but the ice traction, cornering ,dry, steering all get better as the tread wears. For the money and performance of these tires you cant find any better i use them while hunting in the muddys fields to hills from my deer lease property to the highways going there they are flat out awesome.

Hello From Bremerton Washington, Where no one knows how to drive in the Snow. this Winter Has been Interesting to Say the Least... I have been Expecting Massive Snow Earlier in the Season, but it has been Dry, Very Dry, Untill about a week ago. 6 inches of snow later and Driving on these all over town in the snow and Ice, Up and Down Hills, arround corners... I have never had so much fun trying to find the limits of these Tires. Traction is Awesome in the snow and Ice. while going around corners on these tires it is comforting to know that YOU WILL NOT SLIDE. Now, as for Normal Highway driving while not in the Snow and Ice, These Tires are a little Noisey and I keep drifting from side to side in my Lane, Ride comfort is OK, they Hydroplane a bit so best to take the wet areas at slow speeds. As Snow tires... I LOVE THEM

I had these tires put on my BMW 528i (Sport Package) in late October before the snow started in Stuttgart, Germany. I've never really had to drive in snow unless on a skiing trip. I drive fast, aggressive and I enjoy driving on the Autobahn. I'm not much of a tire guy, but a friend that is said I can't go wrong with Bridgestone Blizzak LM-60. I found these tires at Tire Rack, read the reviews and thought they were one of my best choices. I'm glad now that I did take the leap and purchase these as find myself maneuvering (under control) around traffic in bad weather. These tires just grip and have a very deep tread! I live on a very steep hill and wanted to invest in a great snow/ice tire for the price and I made the right choice. You pay for what you get and now in challenging weather I'm confident I have reliable tires gripping the road. Thanks Tire Rack for the easy ordering process, payment, shipping to APO (overseas) and it only took 10 days until they arrived!

Although we have not had much snow this year, we have experienced slippery conditions with some icing. I have used the Blizzak LM-22 and LM-25 series in the past on different vehicles. The WS-70 has a lower speed rating but was the best fitment for the Honda. The road manners are outstanding and the overall stopping, turning and starting are way above average. There is some sacrifice for higher speed stability but this is to be expected for an ice and snow tire. I decided to keep the original size tire on the original rims but have found no disadvantage thus far. The car rides through messy weather like it is on dry pavement.

Another hellish winter storm here in Seattle area. We got snow on top of freezing rain on top of 6 inches of snow. These Blizzaks are amazing. I've been up and down numerous steep hills with barely any slippage and rarely the ABS would kick in. I was going up and down streets that only the bravest (or the most foolhardy) souls would venture without problems. I just went for a "survey" drive to check out the carnage... saw many cars, including many SUV, abandoned on the side of the road. These tires really prove the fact that tires are the only thing that makes any difference in this mess. AWD vehicles with all-seasons got nothing over my FWD minivan with Blizzaks.

Looking for the Best Ride Comfort from a Run-Flat Tire, Bridgestone's Potenza RE960AS Pole Position RFT Aims to Please

Tuesday, January 31, 2012 by Zig Ziegler
The Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position RFT is a replacement self-supporting run-flat tire for the sport coupe or performance sedan driver looking to enhance ride quality over their Original Equipment run-flat tires. This run-flat option offers the same extended mobility safety features of an Original Equipment run-flat tire, but it also tackles one of the shortcomings of having a self-supporting run-flat tire: ride comfort.

Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position RFT
Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position RFT
Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position RFT
Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position RFT

Until now, self-supporting run-flat tires have always been characterized as having a stiffer ride than a conventional tire. Bridgestone's Potenza RE960AS Pole Position RFT is designed to dramatically improve ride comfort while maintaining the security of a run-flat tire. Certain vehicles from BMW, Mercedes-Benz and MINI have run-flat tires as factory installed equipment, and in an effort to reduce vehicle weight, have not been equipped with a spare tire. The Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position RFT will give drivers the dry and wet road performance they have come to expect from their vehicle while providing year-round drivability, including light snow conditions.

During a recent road test, I had a chance to compare the Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position RFT with other popular run-flat tires and felt this tire was superior and absorbed the bumps and variations in the road, while maintaining the quietest ride of the group. If your vehicle has factory installed run-flat tires and you're looking to enhance the ride comfort and cold weather capability, the Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position RFT may be the right tire for you.

To see how run-flat tires can benefit your driving experience, read "Run Flat Tires."
