These tires replaced the OEM Bridgestones at 50K. They alternate with snow tires in winter (as we live in the UP of Michigan) so have no real experience with significant snow driving. They performed well the first couple of years, but last year (the 3rd on) the noise level increased significantly. They may make it through one more summer driving season, but will have to be replaced then. I will probably consider other brands when looking next time, although the performance per dollar was probably above average and the tread looks quite attractive/agressive.

How to Find the Best Tires for Your MAZDA3

Friday, May 3, 2013 by Hunter Leffel

The MAZDA3 came to the market in 2004 as a replacement for the Protege. It was later redesigned in 2010. With a number of configurations and trim levels offered, there are various tire size options in play. The first step will be using our shop by vehicle feature and verifying the size of tire that's on your vehicle. The following tires are some of the more popular and higher rated options in three of the most common sizes for this vehicle. Keep in mind, not all of these options may be available for your specific variation of the vehicle.

Bridgestone Turanza Serentiy Plus
Bridgestone Turanza Serenity Plus
Continental ExtremeContact DWS
Continental ExtremeContact DWS
BF Goodrich g-Force Sport Comp2
BFGoodrich g-Force Sport COMP-2

In 195/65R15, I would take a serious look at Bridgestone's Turanza Serenity Plus. This is the latest Grand Touring All-Season entry from this premium manufacturer. We tested this tire last season against three of the top competitors and it came in first. Designed to provide Bridgestone's ultimate in luxury, elegance and comfort, Turanza Serenity Plus tires blend long wear with dry, wet and wintertime traction, even in light snow.

205/55R16 is another common size for the MAZDA3 line of vehicles. This is one of the more popular sizes in the market, so there will be many choices. If you're looking for a performance oriented option, check out the Continental ExtremeContact DWS. This has been the top-rated Ultra High Performance All-Season tire by our customers for five years. It's particularly strong in the winter elements, while also receiving high marks in hydroplaning resistance, wet traction, dry traction and ride comfort.

The sports minded version of the MAZDA3 wears a 205/50R17. If this is the case for you, I would suggest the BFGoodrich g-Force Sport COMP-2. This Ultra High Performance Summer solution was released last year with great success. It's currently ranked number one in its category. If you're looking to accelerate faster, corner harder and brake shorter in dry and wet conditions, then take a look at the g-Force Sport COMP-2.

Best Tires for a Toyota Sienna

Friday, May 3, 2013 by Steve Huffman

For over a decade, the Toyota Sienna has been a very popular minivan for American families. Toyota's dependability, comfortable ride and ample room has kept these vans on the road for years. Many owners have logged well over 100,000 miles on them and have purchased multiple sets of tires for their vehicle. Like most vans, these vehicles are charged with hauling families, groceries and sports equipment all over town. Families will also use the minivan to travel long distances while going on vacation. The drivers of these vans are typically looking for great all-season traction, long lasting treadlife and a comfortable ride.

One of my favorite tires for this vehicle is the Goodyear Assurance ComforTred Touring. First of all, this tire has fantastic all-season traction. Also, as the name suggests, it offers exceptionally good ride qualities, including a very smooth, quiet and comfortable ride. They are long lasting with an 80,000-mile treadlife warranty in the T- and H-speed rated versions, and a 70,000-mile treadlife warranty for the V-speed rated model. If this sounds like the tire for you, take advantage of our special offer. When you purchase a set of four Goodyear Assurance ComforTred Touring tires before May 31, 2013, you can receive an $80 mail-in rebate. View details here.

Another great option for the Sienna is the Bridgestone Dueler H/L 422 Ecopia. Although this tire is marketed as a Crossover/SUV Touring All-Season tire, Toyoto uses popular SUV sizes on their newer Siennas and this is definitely one of the best tires in the size. Like the Goodyear mentioned above, this tire also offers great all-season traction and comes with a 65,000-mile treadlife warranty. The advantage with this tire is that it is Bridgestone's low rolling resistance tire, which means it will provide you with optimum fuel economy.

If you're looking for a good value option, consider the Yokohama AVID Ascend. This Grand Touring All-Season tire features Yokohama's Orange Oil technology and is branded with their BluEarth eco-friendly identification. It's designed to blend long treadwear, low rolling resistance and all-season traction, even in light snow.

The last set of tires I ran on my Suzuki were The Bridgestone H/L Alenza. (See review.) I loved the tires, but was disappointed with how long they lasted. Two tires were bald and the other two were worn down to 2/32. With only 47K on them.

I decided to give Bridgestone another chance. Upon installing the new H/L 422 Ecopia tires, I immediately noticed a major difference. The tire were so quiet, I could hear the radio again. The next thing I noticed was how much better the car handled and how smooth the ride was. To date, I have only driven in light snow, which was not an issue. Every aspect of this tire is great! Overall my mpg has increased from 23.1 to 24.5. Depending on many miles the tires last, I think that Bridgestone hit a home run with the Ecopia's.

I will update when or if we get any snow.

Just bought a set of MD10 (17” alloy wheels) and Bridgestone WS70 tyres (balance & mounted with sensors) from www.tirerack.com and saved over $1300.00 Canadian Dollars compared to buying them directly from the Dealership. I got the alloy wheels and tyres in 4 days from the United States. Great service, as well as fast and efficient. I got Lexus of Calgary to mount them onto my Lexus CT200H 2012. These tyres are like Velcro to ice and snow. I live in the South West of Calgary, which is very hilly, like Bow and Sarcee Trail. These Bridgestone WS70’s perform very well indeed and I have great confidence in their hill start, accelerating, cornering and most importantly stopping. I have over 24 years of driving experience from Europe, as well as here in Canada and I must say that these Bridgestone WS70 tyres, perform very well indeed. I would never dream of driving in winter without them.

Bridgestone Turanza Serenity Plus Rises to the Top of the Grand Touring All-Season Tire Category

Wednesday, April 24, 2013 by Gary Stanley

What's all the buzz about the new Bridgestone Turanza Serenity Plus?

For years, Bridgestone had a top-rated tire with its line of luxury touring tires, the Turanza Serenity. When we last tested one of these tires, it resulted in a virtual tie with the Michelin Primacy MXV4. If this particular Michelin tire is one you're considering, read "Michelin Primacy MXV4 Tires Installed on My Crossover" for more information.

In today's fast paced competitive tire market, products are constantly being improved. Enter the new "Plus" version of the tire, simply called the  Bridgestone Turanza Serenity Plus. This new version features improved wear, ride and grip levels which have contributed to its rise to the top of our Tire Survey Results in the Grand Touring All-Season category.

This category of tire is perfect for drivers looking for a blend of dry and wet grip, light snow traction, long wear and a very quiet ride. In these areas, the Bridgestone Turanza Serenity Plus really delivers, especially considering it comes with a treadwear warranty of 50,000-80,000 miles depending on the speed rating. The tires also mold a silica percentage reinforced, Long Link Carbon Black tread compound into an asymmetric design featuring Resonance Noise Attenuated (RENOA) silencer grooves designed to reduce acoustic tones.

I have these on a Rear Wheel Drive V8 Caddy and I could not be happier. I live in NE Ohio, so snow is not an uncommon occurrence, and dedicated snow tires make all the difference in the world.

Keep in mind, these are snow tires, so don’t put them on too early or leave them on too long. Know that even ½ throttle will over power them if you have a real motor and corners should be taken with a little more care than with the summer shoes.

Noise is no issue, it is winter – your windows should be up anyway – and if noise is a problem, it’s not the fault of the tire - you just need a Cadillac. I
I would definitely buy these again, and this is a much better solution than buying an AWD car with their lower MPG and heavier handling.

I use these as winter tires on my WRX. For an all season they are pretty grippy and work well in cold temps. However, they are fairly soft in the corners and do not provide the steering response of a summer tire. I do recommend these for winter tire use in light snow areas. They still retain the majority of the cars sporting characteristics.

This tire is fairly heavy at 28 pounds which can I can feel during acceleration.

I replaced my Bridgestone Turanza Serenity tires with the Continental ExtremeContact DWS. I am very impressed with how quiet the ride is (I can faintly hear the engine at highway speed now), and the ride is smoother than the Bridgestones too. What impressed me most about the tires is the snow traction. This is not a car made to perform in the snow. My wife and small child got home from the airport in a snowstorm recently with no trouble and I was very happy to have chosen these tires, which were better in the snow than the Bridgestones ever were. I have a steep lip on my driveway, and it is difficult without 4WD in the snow - I was very surprised that the Continentals had no problem getting the car into the driveway that night.

The only negative I can say is that maybe they seem to drift a little bit more than the previous set I had on at highway speeds, but well worth it for the above improvements. I have only had them a couple months, so cannot speak to the durability yet, but at this price and performance vs. the Michelins I was considering, I would be ok to replace at 40k instead of 50k.

Purchased these to replace Bridgestone 960A/S that lasted 73000 and no longer had tread depth for any snow. The Conti DWS tires really offer a far superior winter experience. In icy slush last night I had no wheel slippage on fairly steep hills. Something the 960A/S could never have done even when new. The trade off is in dry handling: I notice more roll in turns and less on center feel. So far tire seems to be a little quieter. Overall very happy and after experiencing the winter performance would highly recommend.

I purchased this tire to replace an aging set of Continental ContiProContact tires that were on the car when I bought it. Let me say first that these tires are an enormous upgrade over the Continentals. I commute 35 miles each way to work and the weather in Northeast Ohio is nothing if not unpredictable. These tires have given me a tremendous amount of confidence in every situation I've encountered. Wet and dry traction is outstanding but it's the wet traction that really stands out. I have never had more confidence at speed on slick roads. I enjoy throwing my car around as much as possible and these tires are an ideal compliment to my driving style. At highway speeds they are quiet, comfortable, and have a reassuring sense of straight ahead. I've made it through one winter now and although these tires are not particularly good in deep snow, they are passable. Performance in light snow is excellent. I would highly recommend these tires to anyone looking for a meaningful performance upgrade over a standard all season tire. In addition, with their combination of wet and dry capability, I think these tires are a tremendous value in the Ultra High Performance All-Season class.

Only run this tire in winter months. I have driven down hyway at speed limit on slipery roads and not even realized it was slippery til I see other vehicles sliding off road. I puchased these because my driveway is very steep (usually have to put my 4x4 f350 in 4x4 to get up hill) The toyota van could not make it up hill with factory all season tires. With the blizzaks on it goes up plowing snow with front bumper. I highly recommend this for ice and snow. They are a little noisy, Would not recommend alot of dry warm weather running on them as they are soft and will wear quickly. I run the factory all seasons the rest of the year (8 months).

I've had the Revo2 'LT' version tires for my F250 4x4 Diesel for 35,000 miles now. They are an incredible all around tire, especially compared to the factory tires that came with the truck. They grip well in wet, dirt, and they are quiet on the highway. The steering response may feel softer compared to other tires in its category, but it's not something I would consider a negative in a big heavy truck. I've towed 10,000+ lbs for hundreds of miles and the Revo2 were completely stable and planted. I have decided to use the Revo2 tires for the life of the truck since they perform so well in all conditions (I never tried them on snow). They resist hydro-planing extremely well, 70mph in down-pours and the tires just destroy any water in its path while other cars are in the slow lane with their hazard lights flashing, this might be due to the heavy weight of the truck as well. They last 35-40k miles depending on driving style, mine are near the tread bars at 36k which is about what I expect driving a heavy truck that is hard on tires. I can honestly say anyone would be very impressed with the all-around grip and feel of the Revo2 on a full size truck, it's truely a do-it-all tire and it does everything very well.

December 24, 2012

I bought the WS70's last winter but it hardly snowed here in central Iowa, this year looked like it may repeat but then we just got hit by a blizzard and 12 inches of snow. The snow was the best part of the storm, it was the 2 inches of ice that was left on the roads after the snow plows went through that I thought would be the problem. I was very pleased and sometimes amazed how good these tires are, not once did I lose traction or start sliding around unlike many trucks and other 4wd vehicles that were in the ditch. I am still grasping that people don't buy winter tires in snow country or drive on bald tires year round, oh well I didn't need a tow truck to pull me out 3 days later. Buy these tires if you value safety of your family above all else. Now to the other details. Dry traction is a little on the spongy side and I feel the need to concentrate more but I expected that in a winter tire so not that surprised. Also I wouldn't go over 80 on these tires as it doesn't feel the safest. Overall these tire do exactly what they are supposed to do in the winter.

Great A/S tire. This is my 3rd set of A/S tires on my Golf R, and the first one I've been happy with. Previously, I had the junk SP Sport 01 A/S factory tires which were good in nothing. Then, I replaced them with Michelin Primacy MXM4's, which were quieter, but still lacked wet grip, dry grip, and steering feel.

These 970's feel almost to the level of dedicated summer tires in the dry and wet, with the advantage of increased wear, better ride, and cold weather performance. They are not meant for deep snow or ice, but I have no doubt that they will do fine in the minimal snow/ice we have in Delaware. This tire gives up little to the PS3's and SportContact summer tires I've used in pure traction and steering feel. If you are looking for absolute top performance, look to the Pilot Super Sport, S-04 Pole Positions, or the RE-11a with dedicated snows/winter tires. However, if you can compromise just a hair, I think you'll be happy with these tires.

The 710s are the OE tire on our 2012 Sienna XLE.

The outstanding characteristic of this tire and vehicle combination is steering response. The steering is so light and easy it is unlike any other vehicle I've driven. It makes this 2 ton+ vehicle seem like a much smaller, lighter vehicle. To call this van 'light on it's feet' is an understatement. We've taken it on one 2,000 mile trip and thought it was great on the highway. There is little noticeable wear after 17,000 miles. We've also driven in quite a bit of snow this winter and, while they're no Blizzaks, they get around just fine. I went through the tire selection matrix on Bridgestone's website and they are recommending the Dueler 422 as the top-of-the-line tire for this vehicle but I love the way this Firestone works so well on this minivan that I'd be worried about any loss of the great driving dynamics from the factory.

A very good tire that gave me 44,000 troublfree miles. Probably could have gone another 10,000 to 15,000 miles but winter was coming on and i drive 3,000 miles a month, so I went ahead and switched to Goodyear's new F1 assymetric. I wanted something a little bit sporteier with better cornering. I am very very happy with theGoodyears, but the Bridgestone were quite good as well--a bit more sedate in the twisties. Very quiet at first, and a bit noisier after 25,000 or so and getting a bit noisier still by the time I switched. Not too bad really. Very nice manners, steering response was excellent. In two winters never really drove in anything but light snow and occassional ice. Very good response, but the Goodyears really excel. Al in all a high quality tire with a smooth and easy ride.
