If you drive in winter condition you need these tires! When the decision came between (my previous experience with) the Michelin X Ice and the Blizzak, I referred to Tire Racks review and Tires Rack salesman Dean. I cannot relate how much better these tires perform as a dedicated winter tire. The biggest difference was in traction while turning. Exceptional tire. I hope and expect to get 4 more years service from current set.

So I ran this tire this last winter up here in Juneau, AK. When I bought my car it came with summer performance tires that they would not switch out at the dealership for an all season tire. So when I got these put on it was a night and day difference! I was glued to the ice, snow, and slush! They where great no matter the road conditions. The sidewalls where a little soft in cornering but they are winter tires not summer street tires so I can't really complain there. These tires are loud due to all the siping they have on the tread blocks. They also pick up every piece of gravel on the road. But if you are looking for a performance studless winter tire these are the tire for you. Just remember not to run them year road. They need to be switched during the warmer summer months.

These tires are incredible. We had some pretty bad snow this last winter in Calgary and these tires allowed my car to travel down roads it had no business going down. Been through a few seasons on them now and they've never failed me. Solid solid winter tires.

These things murder snowy, slushy, and icy roads. Obviously you have to drive to conditions but these tires make winter driving safe and easy. When no one else is on the road, I sometimes try to make my car spin out on snow covered roads and I've never been able to do it unless I pull the e-brake and turn off traction control. The only time I had trouble is going up a steep grade at a stoplight when the road was a sheet of ice. I still got up, but it was a pretty slow start.

This is a snow tire, so they'll feel a bit clunkier on dry roads but this is not what they were made for. However, they are not at all dangerous on dry or rainy roads as long as you drive smart. Keep in mind the review rating is for a snow tire and is not compared to all seasons or summer tires. I don't know why people bash all season tires on their snow traction. Of course they are going to ----!

If winter weather is a concern to your travels, get blizzaks especially if you have a family. Keep yourself right side up in the winter. These transform a snowstorm from a headache into a smile.

Purchased a set of these for my ap2 s2000. Well michigan had the most snowfall record in history this year, and these tires were incredible. I daily drive my s2000, and travel on completely unplowed backroads, city streets, and lots of highway, and didn't have one single issue all winter. I also live on a very steep driveway that can be tricky to drive up when snow covered, but never once had an issue with these tires.

I expected the traction to be good, but my expectations were far exceeded these tires are a must have for heavy snowfall.

I kept them on through March and April as well, as we had light snowfalls throughout those months and the tires preformed very well on dry and wet pavement as well.

The only negative was the noise, they can be a bit loud, but I have owned louder tires, and I would glady compromise some noise for how well they preform.

Greatly recommend these to anyone.

I drove three Winter seasons on my Blizzak DM-V1s. I kept them at the factory recommended 33 PSI cold inflation pressure. I'm not much of a speeder, but I tend to take what my nephews call "high-G" turns. I tow a boat and trailer that weigh slightly less than 3,000 pounds all Winter; if it's above freezing and I can get on the water somewhere, I go. I've used Blizzaks on several different vehicles and am always impressed by how well they work in snow and on ice. As expected, they feel softer than Summer tires and even slightly "greasy" on warm roads. The shoulder blocks wore fairly quickly on the tires. I began to see the hard base layer underneath the softer tread layer at the beginning of the third season. However, they performed fine, even when backing the boat trailer down a roughly paved boat launch ramp covered by six inches of damp snow and ice. My only complaint is that they make quite a bit of tread noise. But, hey, the aggressive tread is what makes them work so well in deep snow. I'll probably buy another set, since they're the only tires available for my OEM wheels, but I'm not disappointed by that.

For the winter this tire is the best tire I have ever bought. I bought these tires for winter driving only. The one problem with these tires is on dry pavement and when you have the transfer case in Auto or 4 wheel the front tires fight against the rear tires causing a popping sound and feel in the front end. I have taken it to my auto dealer and had the front differential and transfer case torn apart and inspected and found no problems. The dealer put on some less aggressive tires and there was no popping sound. With these tires you need to drive in 2 wheel when you are on dry pavement.
