I put these on my 1990 Lotus Esprit Turbo SE 2 years ago and they have been tremendous. Dry and wet weather grip for this type of mid engine car is extremely good. They give me a feeling of confidence while hard cornering that is stronger than any previous tire I've had on this car. That includes Pirelli , Toyo and Goodyear. I would purchase these again in a heart beat.

First of all these tires claim to be an all season but they are awful in the snow and mediocre in the rain at best. On dry pavement they are fair with traction but they are extremely noisy and harsh over bumps. I got these to replace my stock yokohama advans that were toast and they were the first set I came across a deal on so I bought them. 5000 miles later they are pretty much done and handling and road noise is even worse. I got an alignment when they were installed and everything was within spec (unlike many reviews on here who never get an alignment and wonder why their tires only last 5k miles). I've rotated them twice to try to minimize the wear but it didn't help. Save your money and buy a different set of tires as you will most likely be disappointed with these tires.

I live about 30 miles inland from St. Augustine, Florida so I spend almost every weekend in the summer in sand on the beach or in the coquina flats launching a boat and never have a found issue. I rotated my tires every oil change for the past 5 years and kept a good alignment on the front end. I've been in every hunting club and cypress swamp in our county and been up north joy riding in the snow of the mountains and never have I had an issue with my tires. BFG all terrains are all I have known and they are all I will continue to buy this is by far the best tire for any terrain including the smooth ride they offer on the highway. At 92,000 miles I still have 1/4 tread left on my tires and though they are worn they still pull just as good as the day I bought them. You definitely can't go wrong with these tires and they are more than worth the price!

I guess rugged terrain was not designed for the extreme rated trails.
But this tire proved to be very comfortable on the highway, extremely responsive on the wet. Very good on snow; tough enough to take me to my favorite fishing spots.
Highly recommend

98 BMW 528i w/factory sport package - 16" wheels, tire: 225/55/16
Previously had the earlier version of this BFG tire on my smaller 15" wheels and they proved all-round very good. The "Comp 2's" are being removed after 2,500 miles. These tires stick like glue and have a very stiff sidewall - from a performance standpoint they're excellent - however, there ride quality is quite harsh - considerably more so that will work for daily driving and frequent roadtrips. Noise is prevalant but as the rires a basically new it's not an issue...but I bet as they wear they'd get LOUD. Conclusion: good value for a true performance tire but think hard on this tire if your car has a sport/firm suspension as you'll definitely feel every pebble you come across, just too connected to the pavment for my liking.

I purchased these tires used from a friend who is a very reputable auto mechanic. I didn't know whether they would be very good to run in the winter as the tread was down to only about 25%. However after going through one of the worst winters here in Wisconsin. I was very surprised how well they performed. I would have preferred more tread but they pulled me through all the deep snow and ice covered roads with no problem at all. I am running into a bit of a problem when running in rutted roads during a rain storm. They want to hydroplane some but there almost down to the wear bars so I mostly attribute it to that. I would certainly highly recommend buying a set of these tires. I suspect I should be able to run them a while longer however am looking at buying a new set. The price for a new set really is fairly affordable compared to other tire brands. Before this set I ran a set of Uniroyal Laredo tires which didn't even make it past 35,000 before they needed to be replaced. With the Bf Goodrich tires I haven't run into any problems with irregular wear due to alignment issues which I struggled with on my last set. Overall I am pleased to say that by picking this tire you will make a good choice for your hard earned dollar. For a more aggressive tire you will be pleased with how quiet they are while running down the road.

Initial Review, 1,500 Miles on Tires

I purchased these for my '05 Grand Marquis which has been tweaked a bit and is a bit of a sleeper. It's not your grandpa's Grand Marquis. I've always owned full sized, rear wheel drive, V8 cars because I drive about 30K-50K a year in S. Florida about 75% of it up and down the turnpike and I-95 usually at 80-90mph and so I favor highway cars. Biggest weather concern is rain and lots of it all of a sudden in the summer so I look for tires that can scavage the water out of the tread efficiently and hold the road. And on dry roads I want handling, cornering and stopping traction. Quiet is nice, too. I've had Michelins, Goodyear Eagle RS but generally favored BFGoodrich TAs over the years for their wide squared off footprint and deep 4-row tread. I was wary of Pirellis because I once drove a car with loud, hard as concrete Pirellis and developed a bias.

After reading the reviews here I took a chance on these. I'm very glad I did. They are without a doubt the best in all categories I've ever owned. They seem to roll with almost no resistance, corner and handle well, stop on a dime, keep a firm grip in the rain and are blessedly quiet. Once my car is up to speed it just rolls with these tires and I doubt she's over 1900rpms at 80mph. I can take the 270° exit ramps at 70mph. I love them and would definitely buy them again.

They performed great, but man, the NOISE!!! Time for replacements.

I have purchased the Comp 2's to put on my SL because I have a set on an 2004 E500 and they are the best handling tire i have had on the car to date. The handling is superb in wet and dry and the noise level is very low and the comfort level is very high. It almost feels like you are riding on a rubber pad. Takes bumps and road imperfections and absorbs them very nicely. They replaced Michelin Pilot A/S which were noisy and cumbersome, and just not an aesthetic looking tire for the car, still a great tire, but doesn't have the gripping power desired. I have taken off ramp turns at almost double the speed limit without any slipping or squealing from any corner. It's just a real good tire for the money, cant beat that combo. Very pleased.

Everyone told me I was making a mistake by getting this tire. They said it would be super noisy but it's just as quiet as any other tire I've had. Handling is pretty good, too. Granted, I'm talking about "handling" on a VW Bus but it's still good. What I love most are the 8 ply sidewalls. Even in strong gusts of wind my vehicle stays planted. Car seems more stable now. I had been using 6 ply sidewall tires and these are far superior.

I've tried many different brands of L/T tires over the years and these are - by far - the best. You will not regret getting this tire if you own a VW Bus and they seem to good I'm sure you'll feel that way on any other type of car.

Bought my 2008 JKR last March from the original owner W/ 59,000 miles and the original M/T KM's. Have about 65,000 miles on them now and are about at the end of tread life, will probably replace with a new set in the fall. They're a little noisy and the ride is a little hard, but it is a Wrangler after all. Will definitely buy again.

VERY HAPPY with these. Hot/sunny SoCal desert 24/7 and a few months Tahoe snow/ice. 3 yrs and 50k miles later time for 4 more. Some superficial cracking on the sidewalls and where the tread meets the sidewall but no other problems. I wonder if I had treated them regularly with tire conditioners or if it was kept in a garage or in a shaded parking spot if the cracking would not have occurred. Kept tire pressure per placard on the vehicle. Have also taken them on the beach and on a few fire/very bumpy dirt roads- quite a few very bumpy from the wind making "waves" in the desert sand/dirt roads/back roads/desert trails too! Tire cables in winter were not a problem either. No slipping, no squealing.

Initial Review, 5,000 Miles on Tires
May 10, 2014

I had these tires on my 1993 mustang that I use for autocross when it was still in stock condition. My biggest complaint about this tire is the road noise. When compared to a tire like the old Toyo Proxes4, the Comp 2 is terrible for road noise and comfort. However, performance wise for what they are I would say they are the best in the category. I trashed these tires doing autocross. They do not like heat, but no tires at this level do. What impressed me most about this tire is how much grip it still had when it was worn to just about nothin'. I run the Rival now on a very modified 1993 mustang. There is no comparison. The Comp 2 is a very great street tire and can handle more than anyone can throw at it without committing a felony. I can't give these tires a fair treadwear rating because I trashed them, and nearly trashed a set of Toyo proxes4 immediately after just because they are simply not designed for the demanding heat cycles of road racing/autocross. I would recommend this tire to anyone who daily drives their sports car. This is a great tire, just not a track tire. It is predictable and precise.

Initial Review, 17,500 Miles on Tires
May 12, 2014

Had these OE tires rotated on my new '13 VV CC at the first service interval at 10,000 miles Tires rotated front to back and they started making noise. Thought maybe they would settle in after a bit. Switched to my dedicated snow set up for the winter about a month after having them rotated and forgot about it during the long winter we had in NE Ohio. Just switched them back last month as spring is here and temps are up and whomp whomp whop, most terrible at 25-30 mph. Rotated back to front and it was worse. Car has 17,500 miles on it and two winters I ran the dedicated snow set up. So the tires maybe have 10K on them?? VW and Conti would not provide any warranty or good faith credit but dealership is helping me out on the mount and balance of new set. The ruling was that it is not the fault of the car or the tire but a combination of both because of the sport suspension. With a treadwear of 500 I would think 30K miles would be reasonable with my spirited driving but I didn't get even half taht. I got more tread life out of my 911 rears and I frequented the track with it! The first 10K before rotation the tires were OK for an all season, I can't say good or bad they were adequate. The forums say to rotate these tires much earlier than the first service interval of 10K, pehaps that would have gotten me to 30K if I rotated at 5,000. I've got about a year left on my lease so I'm putting some BFGoodrich g-Force Sport COMP-2's on the CC. At $100 per corner I feel they will be much better than the OE tires and hopefully they last until I turn them in at lease end and the price was great.

BFGoodrich g-Force Sport COMP-2: Excellent Performance at a Great Price

Wednesday, May 7, 2014 by Marshall Wisler

Nearly two years has passed since the introduction of the BFGoodrich g-Force Sport COMP-2. Today, it stands tall as the king of the Ultra High Performance Summer performance category. As a replacement for the original g-Force Sport, the COMP-2 attacked the market in 2011 with a revised compound and considerable sidewall reinforcements over the previous model.

Well liked for its aggressive design and predictable handling in the dry and wet, the BFGoodrich g-Force Sport COMP-2 has become the class-leading favorite with nearly 1,000,000 miles reported. The tire has also done well in our internal tests and should grab your attention if you're looking for a dedicated summer tire that combines reasonable wear with high levels of grip.

Development of the g-Force Sport COMP-2 has been honed by decades of BFGoodrich g-Force racing where success on the street has begun with winning on the track. g-Force Sport COMP-2 tires have been chosen by the Ford Racing High Performance Driving School at Miller Motorsports Park and Skip Barber Racing for their schools and race series.

The BFGoodrich g-Force Sport COMP-2 is offered in 55 sizes in ranges from 15-20" and often times features one of the lowest prices in its class. Shop by vehicle to see if this great tire is available for your application.

I bought these tires based on a friend's advice and on different surveys, rugged terrains have so far exceeded my expectations. They are great on the wet, excellent on light snow, very good on ice.
I go off-roading on the weekends, never had an issue.
I guess some people got mixed between the rugged trails and rugged terrains. launched two years ago;Impossible to buy them five years earlier as some reviewers said.
they were the best all around tires I have ever used, and would highly recommend them.
I would rank them in all weather mild off road category, rather than all Terrain.
in all cases they are much better than the all terrain Yoko's which I replaced and which became obsolete after 15.000 miles.
