The Bridgestone Potenza S-04 Pole Position is Bridgestone's newest Max Performance Summer tire. Recently, I had the opportunity to test the tire on the road and the track.
The Potenza S-04 Pole Position was solid on the road, with good handling and normal levels of tread noise, though its stiff sidewalls gave a firmer ride than some of its competitors.
On the test track however, those same stiff sidewalls came in handy, as the S-04 demonstrated an extremely impressive level of grip and stability. It was truly a confidence-inspiring tire that invites the driver to push it to its limits. While my drive was during dry track testing, my sources tell me that it was also extremely impressive in the wet conditions.
For such a new edition to one of the most exciting performance categories, we have not heard much hype about the Potenza S-04 Pole Position. While not as widely anticipated as its competitor, the Michelin Pilot Super Sport, the Bridgestone Potenza S-04 Pole Position certainly is a well matched contender in the battle for performance tire supremacy. I have been recommending the tire more often now that I have experienced it for myself.
If you are looking for a tire focused on wet and dry performance with confident and predictable handling, then take a look at the sizes available for this tire from Bridgestone.
