After exploring the different performance tire categories in my recent blog, I still have performance tires on the brain. One that I find myself recommending regularly is the Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport.
It offers a very nice balance between ride and handling, wet and dry traction and price. The asymmetric tread pattern is both effective and distinctive. It has consistently been at or near the top of our Tire Survey Results for the Ultra High Performance Summer category.
In our testing, the RE760 came in behind only the Michelin Pilot Exalto PE2 in its category. The PE2 is an excellent tire as well, but a bit more expensive, and currently available in very few sizes.
The Bridgestone, by contrast, is available in many sizes ranging from 16" to 20". Though backorders have been an unfortunate reality for the tire manufacturers in general this year, the RE760 is currently in stock in a wide variety of sizes.
Tire Rack customers are often value-oriented enthusiasts who want excellent performance that is within their budget. The RE760 Sport fills this niche admirably, while offering well-rounded performance at a reasonable price.
