BLUF: I think these tires are awesome. The OEM Continental Sport Contact 3s got a flat; and also were wearing a little weird too at around 20k. So I told the wife since I was deployed to get them replaced with these (new for 2013) Michelin Pilot Sport AS/3s. Since I was away from home I had her send me some pics of them mounted and I was happy with how they looked. She said that she couldn't tell a difference from the Summer Tire Contis. I got home in February and took the S4 for a spirited drive and was extremely satisfied. Tire rack stated these were as close to a summer tire as an all-season could hope to be and they were right. Clearly not as sticky as summers but I'm not tracking or auto-crossing anyway so it didn't matter to me. The ride is great, handles great, and they have been quiet so far. I'm hoping the 500 Tread wear rating holds firm as I'd like to get more than 20k from a tire on this car. I plan on rotating every 5k, front to back and I will update a the 20k mark.

I bought these tires to replace the Kumho Ecsta's that wore out after just 30,000 miles. We went on a vacation the week we bought the tires and after 1000 miles of mixed driving in a one week period I could not be more satisfied with this purchase. The Ecsta's were very noisy, not a issue around town but after 5 hours at 80MPH it became very tiring, the P7's on the other hand were very quite and after driving 300 miles non-stop there was no noise induced fatigue. The rolling resistance on the P7's is so low that I also picked up 4MPG combined. The one complaint that I could have about the tires is actually a great complement, they took a little time to get used to as the turn in is much sharper and there is very little push in hard corners. I truly can not believe that a tire with a 700 treadwear rating can perform this well, I can now understand why it is rated at #1. I am looking forward to the next 60,000 miles to see how these do in the day to day.

I've only had these tires for one month but I have to say they are the best tires I have purchased. I have always purchased Michelin, Goodyear or Firestone's and the Pirelli are by far better. They are so quiet and provides a very smooth ride. Will definitely purchase these from now on. Can't wait to test them during this coming winter.

I recently replaced the Michelin Latitude Tour tires that came with my Ford Edge with these Pirelli Scorpion Verdes and so far am very impressed. They actually feel more smooth than the Michelins and a slightly quieter ride. Haven't noticed any improvement on fuel mileage but that's not a major concern. I can say comparing these and the Michelins, for me these are a better tire.

I was going to report on this tire at 1000 miles but now at about 450 miles there is much to say. The ride continues to improve and is getting quieter. Handling especially in the dry is also better and the Outback is approaching "tossable" when it comes to going through curves. For those who know the DC beltway (I-495) near the Moron Temple, I can now take those curves at near 70 MPH and the car tracks beautifully.

My first experience with wet braking was good. The tires slid but much less than the OEM Continentals. Dry braking is better and the stopping distances are shorter.

Fuel economy has suffered a bit down about 1 MPG but this is a fair trade off to significantly improved handling and a car that is more fun to drive.

This is the 3rd set of tires on this car and they are by far the smoothest, quietest and best handling. The original Michelin tires were ok so I purchased a set of Goodyear Asssurance Touring. The Goodyear tires were ok to begin but the last 20,000 miles were extremely loud and the ride was very rough. I was begining to think about getting rid of the car after riding in newer quieter cars but I decided that a new set of tires may change my mind. After driving the first mile with this set on, I love how the car rides and handles. It is as if I am driving a new car again. I am very happy with these so far.

Purchased these tires approximately 2 weeks ago. Had them installed to replace BF Goodrich tires. I have had Michelen/BF/Goodyear on this car. WOW. I can say I made the right choice. The ride is smoother and road noise is 100% gone%. Steering is very responsive. I had no idea what I had became a custom too. Handling in high speed curves is also awesome. The Accord feels better than new & handles perfectly. To make this even a better story. My gas mileage has improved by 2 MPG. That is with full AC on daily..

Marketer Becomes Tire Tester

After three-and-a-half years on the job, I finally got the call I was waiting for: a chance to be a Tire Rack tire tester! Along with other members of the Tire Rack marketing team, this was OUR opportunity to get behind the wheel of our test BMWs and develop our own opinions on tire performance and truly understand what it takes to get our findings out to our customers.

Having already experienced the Real World Road Ride portion of our tests, I was prepared to look for a tires’ ride, noise and light handling qualities across a variety of conditions. The second part of testing, the Performance Test Track Drives, occurs on our track, and was what I had been waiting all these years to do.

We can see the track from our offices in marketing, we thought we knew what to expect, we were both nervous and excited. As one of our designers said, “I see our testers driving faster than I would want to go. The unfamiliarity of driving another’s car with someone else riding alongside me makes me uncomfortable.”

No worries. We weren't going to be competitive. (The photo at right proves we did take it pretty seriously though)

We got into the cars, we were told to drive at a level that made us comfortable. What made ALL of us comfortable was driving on the set of Michelin Pilot Super Sports. The tire allowed us to feel like we were in control of the car and have some fun behind the wheel as we slalomed a few cones, took some turns at speed and navigated the skid pad (And did I mention this was all done while our track's sprinkler system kept the course covered in water?). When it came to the Sumitomo Touring LS T tires we also tested, it was a completely different story. We were able to feel the vast difference in performance and gain a deeper respect for the testers out there all season doing what they do while listening to the car and the tires so they can accurately report on performances wins and losses.

Here's my rookie review of the two tires.

When driving on the Pilot Super Sports, I felt as if I could driver faster and take turns at speeds I typically don’t, as the tire gave me that much confidence. Now on the Sumitomo, I was braking much sooner to prepare for a turn. If I didn’t I would end up in the grass (even though I didn’t end up in the grass, I can’t say the same for some of my co-workers).

We didn't do a full test on the wet and dry course. And we're by no means expert testers like our sales specialists (who are our test drivers). But rest assured, you're in good hands when you're relying on the test results you read on the tires we offer. Our testers do this all season long and they've got my respect. And trust.

I am now on my 3rd set of these tires (AS/2 prior). These are an excellent balance between high performance and all-season. They last 3 times longer than the stock Bridgestone Potenza S-02 tires, with only s marginal difference in high performance dry driving.

Highly recommended for any S2K driver looking for great performance and longer life.

I bought a full set of these tires as replacement for the original tires, because I honestly liked the way the originals handled. In terms of handling and wet traction these tires have not disappointed. Performance in snow and ice has been mediocre. BUT in terms of life expectancy, they do not measure up. I am presently forced to replace a pair of them due to tread wear at 31,000 miles. Only 8,000 miles of these were as front drive tire usage; the other 23,000 miles were on the rear. As an easy-going driver, with balanced, properly pressurized usage, I expect to hit or exceed full warranty tread life miles, not only 2 thirds of it.

I bought these to replace my General GMAX AS-03. The first thing I want to say is that you get what you pay for with these tires. They are not cheap, but don't let that scare you. I didn't think it was possible for a tire to be this sticky while providing almost touring levels of noise and comfort. Compared to the General tires that I had, these are whisper quiet and have tons more grip. Their feedback is also very nice. You can hear them chirp a little as you approach maybe 80% of their capability and you can just keep going even harder. They're extremely predictable. It's obscene the speed at which you can hit interstate clover-type interchanges with these tires, and you can do it with confidence. Honestly, the limit of these is so far beyond my Generals that I haven't even reached it on the road, which is probably a good thing.

Wet handling is impressive. The treads pump away all the water in their path and let you drive in the wet with confidence that you can still stop faster and maneuver better than any other car around you. They give you that extra margin of safety of 10-15ft shorter stopping distance compared to other all-seasons. That's enough to easily save you from a fender bender. These are not a license to drive fast in the wet, it just makes your normal drive that much easier and safer.

I haven't had the opportunity to use these in the snow, but I'm not concerned. No AS tire is really viable in real snow. As far as I have read, these Michelins are to be considered a 3 season tire in the North and all-season without snow in the South. I can't get away with a summer tire year round since the temps drop well below freezing for months at a time, but I can't justify the cost of keeping two sets of tires. It also almost never snows here so snow tires are not an option. If you live south of Atlanta or Birmingham, I'd say you might be able to get away with the Michelin Pilot Super Sports. People in Florida and SoCal, should definitely be picking that tire.

I am now on my second set of these tires on my 2005 WRX wagon. Unfortunately I hit a big pothole with my first set and one of them was damaged so I had to replace them prematurely. They were at 7/16ths tread depth and I was on my third summer season with that first set. I just had a new set installed today. I didn't think twice about buying these tires again.

These are my summer tires in Colorado, and I commute over 50 miles per day. I absolutely love these tires. To sum them up, they are comfortable and quiet on my daily commute, but when I go for spirited drives they provide all the performance I need. Sure they're not track tires, but they are grippy and responsive, and they communicate their limit well. For me they are the perfect summer tire for a commuter who likes to have fun driving without worrying about their tires. And I've never had any issues in the rain either. I highly recommend them!

Well, I finally stepped up to the plate and and purchased the Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season Plus. Summer in WNY, so I cannot attest to the performance in the snow as yet. I usually switch to the Blizzacks once late Dec & Jan arrive. The Audi, with the Blizzacks is actually better than my LTZ Suburban (all-wheel drive)in the snow. I have to say, after reading all the comments (positive & negative), that I am SO please with them that I needed to write one of these comment things. They are so quite; the car rides so smooth and handles effortlessly; and there has been "zero" dip in gas mileage. In fact a shade better. I did run GY/Assurance tires on this previously. I really thought they were a good tire, and they were. Not necessarily a cheap tire either, but handled really good overall. I even have them on "the bride's" car. But, from the minute I put these Pirelli's on, all I can say is, "WoW". "It's a joy to open the car door knowing I have to take a drive". My driving range is mixed city/highway, with trips across the state and into the cities I travel. My Driving Habits for the most part are normal. However I do get a little spirited at times. I have my own cadence, and do enjoy downshifting through curves just because I can (not that I need to all the time). It just makes driving fun. The tires, playing an important roll in this experience are critical. Besides the comfort and quiet that I have gotten out of these tires, they perform extremely well. Cruising, Breaking, Gripping in Curves, Overall-performance,they are the best I have had at this point in my career. I am very pleased and wanted to share that with you. I will come back and enter my opinion when the snow flies. We all know "ice is ice" and unless you're in a tank doing 20 MPH, nothing else will stop you.I would highly recommend these tires to anyone, not that any one tire performs the same way on all cars. Safe Drive to all! No Texting; Pull over and rest if you're tired!
