Initial Review, 10000 Miles on Tires
December 27, 2011

Bought these Kumho Ecsta LX Platinum tires 9 months and 10,000 miles ago. These are GREAT tires. These are far better than the Yoko Avid V4S tires they replaced and the original Michelins. The Kumhos feel like the car is glued to the road and handle far better than the Yokos did in both dry and wet conditions. Acceleration, cornering and braking are all great. I've only had a little snow and ice driving experience so far, but they seem to be very good in those conditions too. I would definitely buy Kumho again and find them to be better price/performance choice than the Yokos and the Michelins. I ordered from Tire Rack and two days later they were on the car - great service. Why would anyone go with Goodyears or Bridgestones or whatever when these are so good?

Initial Review, 40 Miles on Tires
November 28, 2011

I installed the tires today. It was immediately noticeable that cornering was easier - just driving in the parking lot. This is subjective but the SUV seems to roll easier. Braking seems more responsive. The ride is funny in that it seems smooth but I think I feel road defects through the steering wheel more than before. I drove 40 miles, mostly highway, and I noticed a good improvement in mileage according to the computer. I usually get around 23 on the highway and today it was showing over 26. Road noise was less than before. My previous tires were Bridgestone Dueler 400 H/L and I had 45,000 miles on them.

Initial Review, 2000 Miles on Tires
November 05, 2011

Wet traction: 10 miles after installation, these tires saved me. I came up on a highway accident in the pouring rain; the 70-0mph braking was remarkable. My foot was planted. I was shocked I didn't hit the car in front of me. No experience in ice or snow yet.

Road Noise: I'm convinced this will always be an issue with Acura. However, these tires are better than the OEM Michelins. I can now use voice commands on my HTC EVO at 75mph and couldn't before.

Dry Performance: No issues here. They feel safe, comfortable and responsive.

Tire Value: Incredible. So far, not spending $1200 at the Acura dealer was a great decision and I don't feel quality was sacrificed.

Tire Rack: Worked perfectly. This was my first purchase and will be a repeat customer. Using a locally recommended installer worked seamlessly. I ordered on Friday afternoon, received a call from installer on Monday, tires installed on Tuesday.

Meet your stopping needs with brakes and brake rotors available for your Acura. Don't worry about picking the wrong products. We check every order before we ship it out and offer lots of user reviews on the brake system products we sell. And our search results by vehicle will only generate a list of products that are specifically a fit for your vehicle.

Use our brake performance rating system too, to help you pick brakes that meet your needs. Ratings are provided in three categories: stopping power, low dust and noise. The more red dots you see the better stopping power, lower noise level and lower dust. Original Equipment (O.E.) replacement brake pads all the way up to all-out track pads are available.

What Speeds Up Must Slow Down, Don't Forget the Brakes

Monday, May 17, 2010 by Chad Hocker
Don't overlook your brake system when upgrading your vehicle with performance parts. Tire Rack has a number of brake pads and brake rotors available to fit the needs of your driving style. If you prefer replacement brake pads similar to the Original Equipment pads or something with a little more performance or event track pads, Tire Rack has them available and while replacing the pads it's also a good time to replace the rotors while you're on the job.

Don't worry; all you need to know is which vehicle you want to put your brakes on. We have Audi Brake Pads, Acura Brake Pads, BMW Brake Pads, and Brake Pads made to fit many other vehicles. Just let us know the year, make and model of your car and we'll guide you through the selection process.

All of the brake pads and brake rotors are divided into four categories: Premium, Performance Street, Autocross/Track and Truck & SUV.  I would suggest picking rotors and brakes from the same performance categories to ensure a good match.

Is your Acura ready for Spring?

Thursday, March 4, 2010 by Tire Rack Team
With harsh winter weather dying down (hopefully), it's time to make sure your Acura is ready for spring and summer driving.

If you've been rolling on winter / snow tires, you may want to consider purchasing a new set of Acura tires. You don't have to worry about ice and snow anymore, so it's time for a tire that'll let you have some driving fun—without compromising safety, of course. We put Yokohama AVID H4S tires on the MDX below. (In fact, these tires are High Performance All-Season tires, which would carry you through the winter if your winter / snow tires have seen enough action.)
In addition to the Acura tires, you may want to check out your brakes. A new set of Acura brake pads may be necessary, given the white-knuckle driving you've been doing on those unpredictable winter roads.

If you enter our Upgrade Garage, we'll show you a variety of aftermarket upgrades for your Acura. Including wheels, like the Sport Edition ST5 wheels shown above. Pick the products you want, and we'll get them to you as soon as possible.

You'll be out on those sunny spring roads in no time.

Looking for Acura brake pads?

Monday, January 11, 2010 by Tire Rack Team
Shopping by vehicle is the best way to determine appropriate brake component upgrades. If you drive an Acura, you'll want brake pads that correspond to your Acura's performance level. It goes without saying (but we'll say it anyway) that installing the wrong brake components can lead to a whole slew of performance and safety issues.

If you drive a 2009 TSX (shown), we'd recommend the following Acura brakes:

ATE PremiumOne Pads: "Very quiet and vibration-free. Stopping power is strong and consistent. On par or better than stock brakes so far." -- Tire Rack Consumer Review, Saab 9-2X Aero, MI

Akebono ProACT Ceramic Pads: "I wanted something better than stock, with little fade, and less brake dust that would not eat up my rotors. These fit the bill. I've taken the same pads through two track days, and a mountain run and experienced little to no fade and very little dust." -- Tire Rack Consumer Review, Lexus GS430, GA

Hawk HPS Street Brake Pads: "I couldn't believe that brakes at this price could be so good. Needless to say I will buy Hawk HPS for every car I own...getting these brakes to fade even a little takes lots of effort." -- Tire Rack Consumer Review, Mazda Miata, PA
